Two Meissen plates decorated in underglaze blue with a on a prunus tree.
But swipe left and just look at the reverse - just as exceptional as the front, in my opinion.
Marked with upside down crossed swords with a O between the intersection beneath a prunus tree. This curious mark is thought to be unique to this service.
Finished with a brown line rim for some contrast.

Notable for their large size, this pair of double-salt cellars was modelled at Meissen in the mid-18th century. The sides are sharply moulded in relief with four floral sprays, alternating with finely painted flowers, set below a gilt trellis border. The top of each is painted with two insects, perhaps an attempt to disguise a firing blemish. The four feet are scroll moulded and hold a moulded scallop shell. So much detail given the mostly white bodies.
Measuring 17cm across and 6.5cm high.
Marked to the underside with crossed swords in underglaze blue. Dating to circa 1745.

A very rare vase of shape ‘Saint Gratien’, of baluster form and decorated with scroll-moulded panels and acanthus leaves upon a fluted rim, heightened in a yellow enamel with darker accumulations to the pattern edges.
The present example is one of only four vases made in this shape at the manufactory. The present vase is one of two vases made in 1892 described as ‘2 Vase Saint Gratien decoré fond jaune d’email P.N. Prix vente 200F’ [‘2 Saint Gratien vases decorated yellow enamel background P.N. Sale price 200F’].
Black printed marks for 1892 for both the firing of the form and the decoration, incised letters and numerals JB 92 – 8 – PN, all to the to underside of the base.
