🍂 Our last fresh flower pick of the year! 🍂

What a phenomenal flower season it’s been! We’ve gathered the last of our beautiful blooms from the cutting garden, and tomorrow (Saturday 31st October) marks our final Horsenden Farm Shop of the year!

Come along and grab yourself a jam jar posy or a bunch while you still can! A final little burst of homegrown colour to brighten these autumn days.

While our fresh flowers take a well-earned winter rest, we’ll be busy over the coming month creating dried flower bunches, wreaths and arrangements, ready for December’s Christmas craft markets. ✨

We’ll also be taking orders for dried flower creations, so do get in touch if you’d like something special!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Horsenden Farm Flowers this year, and especially to our wonderful volunteers who have helped grow, nurture, pick and arrange so many beautiful blooms.

Just look at these beautiful wreaths created by participants at our recent autumn wreath-making workshops!

We love how every wreath is completely unique, reflecting the creativity and personality of its maker. Working with a gorgeous abundance of natural, seasonal materials gathered from around the farm, everyone created something truly special.

There’s something so lovely about slowing down, connecting with the seasons and making something beautiful with your hands. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us. It was an absolute joy to share the experience with you, and we’re so impressed by your creations!

🍂A celebration of autumn, creativity and community! 🍂

We’re on a bit of a high after our Autumn Wreath Workshop yesterday. It was such a joy to welcome so many lovely people to the farm for a day of seasonal creativity, slowing down and reconnecting with nature.

Using beautiful natural materials grown and gathered on the farm and from the surrounding landscape, everyone created their own unique autumn wreaths, full of colour, texture and character. No two were alike, and we absolutely loved seeing everyone’s creativity!

One of the things we love most about these workshops is the opportunity to celebrate the beauty of the changing seasons and the abundance of materials growing all around us. Working with what nature provides, embracing its imperfections and creating something beautiful without plastic, floral foam or unnecessary waste.

A HUGE thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who helped gather materials, prepare the space, welcome guests, keep everyone supplied with tea and delicious homemade cakes, and clear up afterwards. These events wouldn’t be possible without you!

And of course, thank you to everyone who joined us, brought such lovely energy to the day and supported our little community farm. We hope your wreaths bring a little autumn magic to your homes over the coming weeks! 🍁✨

One of the loveliest parts of growing flowers is seeing where they end up. We love seeing flowers picked from our little patch of West London, gathered into a bouquet, and carried off to become part of someone else’s story. A birthday, a celebration, a thank you, or just a reminder that someone is thinking of you.

Like this gorgeous bouquet, which the lovely Val ordered for her mum’s birthday! Full of glorious dahlias, delicate grasses, autumn foliage and seasonal treasures from our cutting garden. A little bit wild, wonderfully colourful, and made especially for her.

We don’t work from fixed recipes or try to make every bouquet look the same. Instead, we wander through the flower patch to see what’s looking its best, combining the colours, shapes and textures that nature has given us that week. No two bouquets are ever quite alike, and that’s part of their charm.

We’re savouring these last few weeks of fresh flowers before the growing season draws to a close, so do get in touch if you’d like us to make something special. 🍂 As the growing season begins to wind down, we’re looking forward to slowing the pace a little and welcoming you into the Hayloft for our cosy Autumn Wreath Workshops.

We’ve been gradually gathering and foraging around the farm for all sorts of lovely seasonal treasures – seed heads, grasses, foliage, berries and more – to use alongside our amazing selection of beautiful dried flowers.

Together, we’ll spend a relaxed few hours creating wonderfully wild and natural autumn wreaths, with plenty of guidance along the way. And, of course, no cosy afternoon in the Hayloft would be complete without cake and mulled c***r!

We’ve been working incredibly hard over the last week or so preparing flowers for a very special wedding here at Horsenden Farm, and what a magical day it was!

It was a chance to stretch ourselves creatively and try some larger-scale installations for the first time, including a floating floral arch and meadow boxes. Designing the mechanics was a challenge, particularly as we were determined to use sustainable materials with no floral foam or single-use plastics — but we did it, and were ever so pleased with the results!

Alongside the installations, we created all the flowers for the day: table arrangements, cake flowers, buttonholes, bridesmaids’ bouquets and, of course, the bridal bouquet.

The vast majority were grown right here at Horsenden, supplemented with some beautiful stems from neighbouring Golden Rose Flower Farm, who supplied some of the dusky pinks and whites we needed. We love being able to support a fellow grower while keeping things seasonal and locally grown.

It was very much a team effort, with our amazing volunteers getting stuck into harvesting, conditioning, arranging and problem-solving throughout the week. We simply couldn’t have pulled it off without them.

It was also lovely to make new connections, including Pippa Martinson Cakes, who created the most beautiful three-tiered cake featuring our very own Horsenden-grown dahlias.

An epic undertaking, but so rewarding to see the farm transformed and what can be achieved with locally grown flowers, sustainable floristry and a brilliant team.

A huge thank you to Sarah and Nick for trusting us and giving us the freedom to create something so special. It was a real privilege to be part of your beautiful day — heartfelt congratulations to you both! 💕
