The most requested thing since I started… and I didn’t see it coming.

When I first started designing, I thought clients would want bold statements, but the real demand came from something else entirely. The calm, timeless, bespoke spaces that feel made just for them.From Mayfair to Chelsea to Knightsbridge, the message has been the same: ‘Make it personal. Make it DOR.’

Here’s a glimpse into what that looks like, the walk-ins, the sketches, the choices, the transformation.

For a long time, I searched for the right name.

I explored different ideas, different words, different identities, trying to find something that truly represented how I see design and what I want this studio to become.

Then I returned to a word I have known my entire life.
DOR.

A Romanian word that has no perfect translation.
It speaks of longing. Of belonging. Of missing a place, a person, a feeling. It is nostalgia, connection, memory and home, all at once.

The more I thought about it, the more I realised that this is exactly what I want to create through design.

Not spaces that simply look beautiful.

Spaces that mean something.

Homes that tell stories. Homes that hold memories. Homes that people look forward to returning to after a long journey.

A feeling of comfort.
A feeling of belonging.
A feeling of home.

Today, I am proud to introduce DOR Atelier.
A studio built on the belief that great design is not only seen, it is felt.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey so far.

DOR Atelier was founded on the belief that great design is not simply seen, it is felt.
Named after the Romanian word dor, the studio explores the emotional connection between people and place. Every project begins with understanding how a client wishes to live, gather, rest and belong.
The result is a collection of interiors that balance architectural clarity with warmth, creating homes that feel effortless, timeless and deeply personal.

O - Origin

Every project has a story. The architecture, the landscape, the client’s life, their memories and aspirations. Design starts by understanding the origin of a place.
