The Lamp Factory, London began trading in 2008, after working in the industry for 25 years Russell Sidney started the company with a view of offering a one stop workshop for interior designers, antique dealers and now the public alike. Our company has grown significantly over the years we have been trading, from starting as a sole trader in a small workshop to now employing 14 multi skilled techni

cians our factory now consists of four main workshops ~
A Brass machining workshop, a woodwork shop, metal finishing workshop and a wiring workshop that wires for standards worldwide. Through these workshops we are able to create our own designs and also offer a full restoration service of antique lighting and a lamp conversion service

Our workshops can work in tandem to make a complete unit or work separately within there own capacity to suit any individual needs

Behind every piece that leaves our workshop is the skill and experience of our craftspeople. From shaping and assembling to finishing each detail by hand, traditional techniques remain at the heart of what we do.

Whether it’s one of our made-to-order designs, a completely bespoke piece or the restoration of an antique, every light receives the same care and attention in our British workshop.

A closer look at the craft behind our lighting.

Wood turning is one of the specialist processes used in our workshop to create components for our made-to-order and bespoke designs.

From shaping and turning timber to staining, painting and finishing, each element can be developed specifically for the proportions and requirements of a piece.

Having these capabilities within our workshop also gives us the flexibility to adapt existing designs or create something completely bespoke for a project.

Made for Bacchanalia Mayfair | Greek & Mediterranean Restaurant

Created for the luxury Mayfair restaurant’s opulent, mythology-inspired interiors, our bespoke serpent wall lights sit amongst a celebration of ancient Greek and Roman influences.

Sculptural and full of character, each serpent was individually made and finished in our workshop, bringing the designer’s vision to life through bespoke lighting.

A bespoke pendant created for The Chancery Rosewood , bringing together rich dark wood and brass with a combination of opal and ribbed glass globes.

Designed specifically for the project and handcrafted by our team, the contrasting materials and textures create a statement piece that feels at home within the landmark Grosvenor Square property.

From a designer’s initial concept to the finished piece, our workshop can develop and manufacture bespoke lighting tailored entirely to a project.

Our Junior table lamps have become a popular choice across residential and hospitality interiors, bringing considered lighting to bedside tables, bars, restaurants and spaces where a smaller footprint works best..

Crafted using techniques including casting, hammering and hand-finishing, the collection brings together solid brass, textured details and a wide choice of finishes. Selected designs are also available as rechargeable options, offering even more flexibility.

A closer look at our bespoke work for Celeste

Working to ’s design vision and vintage references, our London workshop brought a collection of bespoke lighting to life - from bar table lamps with warm brass detailing, to large-scale 900mm ceiling pendants, alongside wall lights combining patinated brass and opaque glass.

Each piece was individually developed, handcrafted and finished for the space.

From interpreting vintage references to manufacturing completely bespoke designs, we work closely with designers and architects to create lighting tailored to each project.

Inspired by the iconic work of Hans Bergström, we handcrafted four bespoke table lamps for Celeste, the private members’ club in Notting Hill.

Each lamp features a solid brass base, a fluted tapered mahogany stem and a hand-spun brass shade with a decorative cut edge, finished in antique brass. Every component was carefully crafted and hand-finished in our London workshop, balancing traditional craftsmanship with timeless design.

From reinterpreting historic designs to creating entirely bespoke pieces, we work closely with designers, architects and private clients to create lighting for exceptional interiors.
