Creating logo signs for brands and their agencies is a big part of what we do. We use a wide range of products and techniques, but one which is always popular with clients is our flat-faced Neon Ultra® product. Originally used to mimic real glass neon, the flat-faced version offers more versatility in being able to copy the ‘thicks’ and ‘thins’ of logos, in other words, varying stroke-widths. It was therefore the perfect produce for this logo.

Produced from internally-illuminated solid acrylic, this particular sign used white edging and illumination to give a neat crisp look.

The team at approached Carousel Lights and asked us to bring their localised Duolingo London logo to life with the Queen element to it. What an awesome brief to receive.

The client sent us a photograph of the space that the neon was to be located in, along with dimensions of the space. That enabled us to produce different design options for the neon, with different degrees of complexity as well as different options for use of glass colour.

When designing neon signs, there are several consideration we make. Whilst the main objective is to maintain the integrity of the logo that we’re replicating, we need to consider what diameter glass we’ll use to make it, the tightest bends we can do with that glass and the colour availability of the neon.

We looked at incorporating both the chicken and London Underground roundel, whilst also incorporating a crown to really bring it home to London. This led to a lot of complexity in the design, so the final design was the head and the crown with the use of 3 colours – warm white, yellow and green.

We supplied a mounting template in advance so that the client could locate it on the wall to get a real idea of the size of the neon once it was delivered.

The team at House asked Carousel Lights if we could bring their logo to life for a concession in London’s . They wanted each illuminated letter to be mounted directly to the wall, so it was produced from internally-illuminated solid opal acrylic with high-efficiency LEDs inserted into the acrylic. Gold edging was places on the edges, and each letter was supplied with a long tail lead that could be pulled through the existing wall for an extremely neat finish.

The brilliant team behind Glide at Battersea came back to Carousel Lights a few months ago, with us having helped them with the illuminated signage for Christmas 2024.

They wanted additional signage for more areas, which was a mix of wayfinding and decorative lighting. This ‘The ultimate icebreaker’ custom sign was made from our famous Neon Ultra® product, which is a robust product produced from solid opal acrylic, and it’s perfectly suited to this type of use. We love working with this client and are very grategful they came back to us for more lighting and signage 🙏

We loved bringing the “SEE WHAT I SEE” sign to life for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of James Ijames’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Fat Ham.

Having been recommended to the production team by the lighting team at Donmar Warehouse (who we’d previously worked with), we worked with them to understand the brief and proposed our Neon Ultra® product which delivers a similar on-stage look to classic neon but has the durability and control that theatre can demand.

At Carousel Lights, we don’t just supply custom signage — we solve real production needs. That’s why lighting designers and production teams the theatre world come to us again and again for world-class custom costume signage and stage signage that stands up to the creative vision and practical requirements of theatre.

Loosely inspire by Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Fat Ham ran in from August – September 2025 in Stratford-upon-Avon.

We spent a LONG time designing this fairground light heart. It was inspired by Charles Thurston's first ever Waltzer ride which debuted in 1933 at the back-end of the art deco period.

We used Clear and Red swirling fairground lights on the heart - instead of the more common star shapes - to mimic the turning of the cars. We added deco wings to the heart in a nod to the early 30's and we painted the trim of the heart in Mason Ayres red - the exact paint colour that Charles Thurston used to paint the word 'WALTZER' on his ride.

Until recently this light hung proudly in the brilliant Ben's Canteen in Clapham.

Acrylic lightboxes seem to be the order of the day. We get asked for them by restaurant operators, event agencies, interior designers….the list goes on. They’re totally customisable, with variables being the LED illumination colour, acrylic colour, vinyl graphics and overall shape. They’re great value too.
