Liberia 03


“A living room is more than just a place to lounge—it’s a place to experience the world, to reflect and interact with others, and to experience a sense of belonging.” (Kenneth Frampton)


The first floor saw the most changes in the house, including the creation of a new walk-in dressing room that replaced an old bathroom, which was relocated to an updated 1980s extension. Skylights were added to both of these new rooms. The living room, relatively preserved in terms of layout, centers on the furniture that the clients picked out carefully. The alcoves on both sides of the fireplace have bespoke joinery: a foldable desk in one corner and floating shelves in the other.

Note: In order to avoid compromising the bedroom’s “deepest rest”, only one photo will be shared (the green room), and even less will be said.

“The kitchen is a stage for daily rituals” (EG)


The guiding principle behind the kitchen was to harmonize function with beauty. Once a space defined by purity and simplicity dedicated solely to cooking, the kitchen has gradually evolved into a more intimate area where people often find themselves spending most of their time.

The backsplash features green zellige tiles, similar to those used for the fireplace in the living room. The oak cabinetry helps to warm-up an otherwise cold and desaturated area of the house. The L-shaped island in the corner of the room is a play on the main kitchen wall’s geometry, providing a comfortable access to the rear garden in addition to offering different seating arrangements.
