Framed with intention and finished with precision ✨

This recent installation features the Gazco Chesterfield 5 gas stove, beautifully set within a classic marble surround and paired with a clean black hearth for contrast and balance. The proportions work effortlessly here — the inset chamber draws the eye inward, while the softer tones of the stone keep the overall look refined and timeless.

From a technical perspective, the balanced flue system allows for a sealed, glass-fronted fire — delivering consistent heat output while maintaining efficiency and control. No compromise on performance, without the need for a traditional chimney setup.

A perfect blend of heritage styling and modern convenience — designed to elevate the space, not overpower it.

This recent installation pairs a Wilmslow surround in white MDF with a sleek black front hearth, creating a crisp architectural frame that draws the eye straight to the fire. The soft detailing of the mantel balances the bold monochrome palette, making it versatile across both classic and contemporary interiors.

At the heart sits a DFE gas fire, offering efficient, controllable heat with an authentic flame picture. The inset design keeps everything visually contained, while the reflective black chamber enhances depth and flame clarity, giving that layered, high-end finish clients are always looking for.

A simple concept, executed properly, is what elevates a room from functional to considered.

Recently installed — a clean, architectural statement built around contrast and proportion. The 54” Silsoe mantel in Aegean limestone brings a soft, refined frame, while the polished black granite hearth, slips and headers ground the design with a sharp, reflective edge that enhances depth and symmetry.

At the centre, the Onyx Eclipse 60HL gas fire by .fires delivers a wide, landscape flame picture with a deep fuel bed and high-efficiency output. The frameless aesthetic keeps the focus on the flame, while the balanced flue system allows for flexible installation without compromising performance.

A simple palette, executed properly — where material choice does all the work.

A fireplace that doesn’t fight the room… it anchors it.

This DRU Global 55XT CF by sits effortlessly within a Heston 53” Aegean limestone mantel, framed with slips and headers to create a clean architectural focal point. The soft, neutral stone contrasts beautifully against the deep black chamber and hearth, giving the flame space to stand out without overwhelming the room.

The proportions here do the heavy lifting. Generous opening, low-profile hearth, and crisp lines that tie seamlessly into the wall panelling for a fully integrated finish.

From a design perspective, this is where gas fires come into their own. A real flame, controlled and consistent, without the visual clutter. Just warmth, movement, and balance.

Technically, the Global 55XT CF delivers a realistic log fuel bed with high-definition flame picture and efficient heat output, all within a compact, glass-fronted design that maintains clean lines and performance.

Understated. Intentional. Timeless.

Clean, honest install here — a Charnwood C4 taking centre stage with that effortless, contemporary feel.

Set against a neutral backdrop, the simplicity of the design does all the talking. The tall flue draw and minimal footprint keep the space open, while that warm, steady flame brings everything back to life.

Finished with a sleek black hearth and natural log store, it’s a perfect balance of function and calm, understated style.

Small stove, big impact — exactly what a room like this needs 🔥

Clean lines, soft lighting, and a flame that does all the talking. 🔥

The British Fires Holbury 870 suite in a cream finish creates a calm, architectural focal point without overpowering the space. The recessed design keeps everything sleek, while the electric flame effect brings depth, movement, and warmth—no chimney, no compromise.

Paired with subtle LED-lit shelving and a perfectly centred media wall, this setup is all about balance. Contemporary, minimal, and designed to feel effortless.

The DRU Maestro 130XT brings a full-width landscape flame that feels effortless but is anything but. At 1300mm wide, this is a true statement appliance, designed for media walls and architectural settings where proportion matters just as much as performance.

The flame picture is where it earns its place. DRU’s Eco Wave technology allows dynamic flame height variation, giving a more natural, less “on/off” look while reducing gas consumption. Combined with Ceraglass anti-reflective glass, you get depth and clarity without the usual glare, so the flame reads properly even in daylight.

Under the surface:
• Heat output: up to ~9kW (with controllable modulation)
• Efficiency: high-efficiency balanced flue system
• Remote/App control: full regulation of flame height, heat and Eco Wave mode
• Fuel bed: realistic log set with multi-burner system for layered flame effect

Left in a pre-decorated finish, this install is all about form first. The clean, plastered structure frames the fire without distraction, letting the flame become the focal point rather than competing with finishes.

This is the difference between “a fire in a wall” and a properly considered feature.

A calm, balanced finish to this living space with the British Fires New Forest 650 Black Edition paired with the Willbury mantel in Portuguese limestone by Capital Fireplaces.

The soft, natural tones of the limestone frame the fire beautifully, while the deep black firebox and anti-reflective glass allow the flame picture to remain the true focal point of the room. The result is a clean, architectural feature that feels both contemporary and timeless.

The New Forest 650 uses British Fires’ signature LED flame technology with hand-painted ceramic logs and realistic ember bed, creating impressive depth and movement even in a compact opening. The anti-reflective glass significantly reduces glare, meaning the flame effect remains clear from across the room and in brighter spaces.

Paired with the solid Portuguese limestone mantel, the installation brings warmth, texture, and structure to the room without overpowering the space.

A perfect example of how carefully chosen materials and proportions come together to create a subtle but striking focal point.

A look back at this 2024 installation of the Spartherm Varia 2Rh H, a true corner fire designed to be viewed from two sides and built to become the centrepiece of the room.

Installations like this are about far more than placing a fire in position. It begins with constructing a solid, load-bearing hearth base to support the weight of the appliance and allow safe clearance from surrounding materials. The Varia 2Rh H is then carefully positioned and levelled before connecting the external air supply and high-efficiency flue system.

In this project, the insulated twin-wall flue system was routed through the roof structure and finished externally with a weathering plate and terminal, ensuring safe draft and weather protection. The firebox itself features Spartherm’s precision-engineered lift door mechanism, large panoramic ceramic glass and high-performance refractory chamber designed for efficient wood combustion and exceptional flame visibility.

With structural preparation, ventilation, flue design and precise installation all considered, it’s the combination of technical detail and craftsmanship that allows a fire like this to perform exactly as it should.

A beautiful example of a classic fire basket bringing character back to the room.

The detailed cast design creates a timeless focal point, while the elegant surround frames the fireplace perfectly, allowing the fire basket to sit proudly as the centrepiece of the space.

Paired with decorative tiles and natural stone slips, the result is a fireplace that feels both traditional and refined — the kind of feature that quietly anchors the entire room.

A refined focal point designed to bring warmth and quiet elegance to the room. 🔥

This installation features an Aegean limestone mantel, beautifully framing a 48” fire basket with gas inset. The natural softness of the limestone contrasts effortlessly with the honed black granite front and back hearth, creating a strong architectural base that anchors the space.

Inside the opening, a smooth steel chamber deepens the visual impact, subtly reflecting the movement of the flames and adding a contemporary layer to the classic mantel design. The result is a balanced composition of stone, steel and fire — enhancing the atmosphere of the room while creating a calm, inviting centrepiece beneath the TV and lighting.

A simple palette, clean lines and natural materials allow the flame to remain the hero of the space.
