and I are currently refocusing our efforts on some exciting new interior objects and in the coming months you will be hearing a lot more about our new venture. In the mean time I’ve taken the opportunity to finish off an object that has been gathering dust for the last 7 years. I made this frame whilst working as a metal workshop technician at Central Saint Martins in 2018 and it’s been sitting in our store room going rusty ever since. So here it is resurrected. It’s not perfect but serves as a good 1st prototype for things to come…

A nice example of one of my hand sewn belts in Oak bark tanned bridle butt from this belt has one fixed keeper and one that slides but is captive on a loop. The crew punched holes mean the belt still sits nice and flat even with the short prong of the stirrup buckle.

GUITAR STRAP. This isn’t your regular one size fits all adjustable strap. It is extra wide 75mm/3” to spread the weight of the instrument over the shoulder, it’s ever so slightly padded and the length is cut perfectly for both musician and instrument for a bespoke fit. It’s made from a lovely oily Italian veg shoulder on the front a thick and tough plain veg Spanish butt on the back and a middle /riser/padding layer made from the splits. Completely hand sewn of course. This one is for me so I plan on adding some stitched patterns and extra detailing, I will post more pics of it on the instrument once that’s done. Also features some very handy strap locks for good measure which I strongly recommend to all players.

I’ve been making these cards slips since 2013. I know many friends and family still have theirs 11 years on, they are so simple and satisfying to hold. The design remains unchanged and every one as gloriously inconsistent as ever. Each batch is made of off cuts and whatever I have lying around, sewn at whatever stitch width I fancy, edge coated or just burnished or both, this makes each one it own unique little snowflake ❄️

Another bespoke knife sheath, this one is a friction fit. The knife has a forged detail around the bolster which meant that it couldn’t be flat, so I opted for a folded body with an extremely thick welt made of three laminated layers. The middle layer is narrower giving the edge of the blade a nice chanel to sit in.

Recently completed bag commission. Bubble grain vegetable tanned shoulder, with smooth 3.5 veg strapping. This leather has a beautiful suede like texture on the inside so the bag is unlined. Entirely hand sewn with bound seams on the interior and two pockets with French binding on the top edges one rear pocket and one inside. More pics to follow.

Bespoke travel document wallet. Beautiful tangerine orange Tuscon veg tanned shoulder from . I have used this leather for quite a few projects now (mostly furniture interior and furniture projects you won’t see here) it has a soft oily texture and will age very nicely but perhaps most importantly it’s incredibly easy to work with and gives a beautiful edge. Fully lined, hand sewn at 9spi with some lovely meisi super fine thread from . Edge paint mixed by the colour master and assistance from the skive master.
