In the Shadow of Our Silence – Gaza’s Cry

News from Gaza pierces our hearts like a knife each day. The echoes of bombs, the tears of children, and the silence of shattered homes reach our screens — yet we only read, watch, and grieve. Though we cannot be there in person, we must raise our voices louder against those in power in our countries. Our complacency weighs heavily on our conscience, while Gaza’s resilience reminds us of the strength to act for justice.

This painting is made to let Gaza’s pain break our silence — a symbol urging us to move beyond grief and, within Allah’s will, find the courage to raise our voices for justice.

The Battle of Badr – A Narration of Divine Aid

In 624, before the Battle of Badr, the Prophet and his companions raised their hands in prayer, pleading for Allah’s help. Their hearts were at peace as they placed their trust in their Lord. Allah answered their supplication, promising: *“[Remember] when you asked help of your Lord, and He answered you, ‘Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, following one another.’”* (Qur’an, 8:9)

When the battle began, the angels descended, bringing strength and reassurance. The Quraysh army of a thousand advanced, but fear was cast into their hearts. Light broke through the darkness, and with faith and divine support, the small band of believers triumphed against all odds.

This painting reflects the divine aid and the strength of faith at Badr. It reminds us of the power of seeking refuge in Allah in moments of great trial.
