Jj McCarthy Interior Design was established in January 2011. Jj has a degree in History of Art and graduated from the KLC School of Design in 2004. Prior to setting up her own company Jj worked alongside well established designers, including Celia Hendry and Nicholas Herbert. Jj McCarthy Interior Design offers a bespoke service, including a full range of interior architecture and interior decorati

ng for both private and commercial clients. Professional integrity is key and we provide a service that exceeds all expectations and is carried out with experience, a passion for design, and always a touch of fun. Jj specialises in furniture design and loves to integrate carefully sourced antiques, decorative objects and beautiful textiles ensuring that the end result is completely unique, yet evokes a look that has evolved over the years and truly reflects the clients personality. A huge thank you to .darlow for such a beautifully written feature, who did a wonderful job capturing the story behind this very special project.
This charming Salcombe cottage was a true joy to work on. From reimagining the layouts and creating detailed lighting plans, to designing the interior schemes and bespoke furniture, every element was carefully considered to create a holiday home that is both beautiful and practical.
It was a pleasure collaborating with such a talented and fun client, whose love of colour and pattern perfectly matched our own. They brought so many fantastic ideas to the process, making it a genuinely creative and rewarding journey.
The result is a warm, characterful cottage designed for family life, a holiday home that we know will be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come.

Just had to share some love for this amazing spot I visited recently with my cookbook club! We stayed at , a dreamy retreat that's perfect for big groups - the views are stunning, the vibes are warm, and the owners are absolute gems. LOVED the interior decor, loads of and goodies, so colourful and snug. The pool, tennis court, sauna, and cold plunge were a blast! They've thought of everything, even the crockery is stylish. What a fabulous weekend!
