Summertime blues...

Feeling this heat transports me from Europe to Africa... sunshine and heat are integral to the process of dyeing these antique French linens.. sunlight turns the indigo from green to blue, heat dries the starch resist paste that creates the pattern. All ready for some gentle hand stitching under a shady tree!

Every design has a story.
The latest narrow 'Petals' embroidered trim developed from a vintage scrap of Nigerian weaving and sketchbook planning.
Our weavers carefully recreate the woven construction for a new narrow cloth.
Initial designs are stitched by hand to perfect the dimensions.
Then our amazing embroidery artisans recreate this using free-machine embroidery in Nigeria, supporting heritage crafts that are endangered by computer-generated machine embroidery.

On Tuesday we will be welcoming a small group of designers at the showroom for a relaxed 'stitch & sip' session and opportunity to browse the collection.
Rebecca has designed a mini mindful stitch project using vintage textiles and simple techniques.

Easter weekend vibes with spring flowers and sunlight.
Pretty table-settings, air-dried linens, apple blossom and shafts of sunlight, all good inspiration for light fresh color stories and pretty interiors.
