A little update from TLDS 🩷

Since the Marketplace works began on 7th September, we’ve seen an immediate and significant drop in footfall across the town 😢

Our turnover so far this month is currently around 75% down compared with the same point last month — and we know we’re not alone. Many other independent businesses in Richmond have also mentioned a noticeable downturn in trade since the works began.

We’ve written to North Yorkshire Council to raise our concerns, particularly as the works are scheduled to continue for 12 weeks, taking us into the crucial Christmas trading period.

We completely appreciate that the work needs to be done, but the impact on our town’s small independent businesses is very real.

So please remember… RICHMOND BUSINESSES ARE STILL OPEN! ❤️

Please don’t let the road works put you off visiting. Every coffee, lunch, purchase and visit genuinely makes a difference.
