A little behind-the-scenes look at how we perfect our sculptural pillar candles in the studio. Making molded structural candles with a natural blend like coconut wax requires a lot of precision to prevent center cavities as the wax cools and shrinks.Before demolding, I use a candle heat gun to gently melt the settled layer, ensuring a solid bond before doing a final coconut wax top-up pour at the base. It takes extra time, but it’s the only way to guarantee a flawless, smooth finish once they are released from the molds.
