Happy Friday!

Today we wanted to share with you all some lovely photos of a custom blind installed in our little house in Japan, featuring our Safety in Numbers design.

This is a very special collaboration between ourselves and the team over at 瀬戸内デニム株式会社 (Setouchi Denim) in Japan- the beautifully crafted dark indigo jacquard denim and the signature in chestnut coloured leather have made this blind appear almost as if it were a painting hung on our wall.

It's always an absolute joy to work with this team, as their design ethos is so deeply rooted in craftsmanship and detail- we think our design looks absolutely stunning in such a uniquely textured interpretation!

For this weekend's post, we wanted to share the fab series of workshops we did in collaboration with Wallpaper Museum WALPA 大阪 and WALPA store TOKYO as part of their anniversary celebrations.

Whilst the talented team at WALPA busied themselves creating amazing decorations, we made up over 25 cardboard frame bases and provided some vintage stickers for people to choose and display as they liked. Our little home in Onomichi briefly looked like a cardboard warehouse, but we had so much fun making them up!

We also gave a short talk on the story behind using cardboard for the frames, as well as the design concept of gallery walls as a feature in the home. I hope that we inspired everyone who came to pick a wall in their own homes to start one, especially since they had a great starting point with the frames that they had made!

The fab thing about the workshops is how expressive everyone was with their design choices! Some people even brought pictures with them to theme their frame around. It was great to get to chat with people as they worked away and hear about their inspiration behind what they decided to do.

Attendees got to take their frames and stickers home with them, as well as small lanterns (lovingly created from cardboard by the team at WALPA) featuring our Hattan fabric papers.

日本での思い出（もしくは仕事の記録）シリーズ第三弾！（勝手にシリーズにしてますが）
今回はワルパさんとワークショップのコラボです。

今回のワークショップは、ワルパさんのHQであるウォールペーパーミュージアム（大阪）と、ワルパ東京さんで行われました。
ギャラリーウォールの提案、そしてそのギャラリーウォールの一部としてアップサイクリングのダンボールフレームを作ってみましょう！というワークショップ。

ギャラリーウォールは、イギリスでもずっと人気があります。
家のオーナーの個性が出るのもギャラリーウォールの特徴の一つです。
とてもプライベートなものなのです。

自分の好きを少しずつ、フレームに入れたり、そのまま飾ったりしながら一つの壁に並べていくだけですが、その並べ方にはちょっとしたコツがあるんですよね、というお話をさせていただきました。

でも一番お伝えしたかったのは、例えば、小さい頃から大切にしているものや、冷蔵庫のドアに貼ってある思い出の詰まった旅先からのポストカードや、美術館のポストカード、蚤の市で見つけた古いプリントや絵、お友達にもらったネックレスなどなど、もし、箱の中や、引き出しに眠っていたら、ちょっと陽の目を浴びさせてあげる意味でも、壁に並べてみましょう。
それだけでも、自分の好きなもの、自分のほっとできるもの、が表現されたとてもプライベートな部分が家の中に出来上がって、本当の自分の場所になってくれるんじゃないかなって思うんです。
ってことでした。

きみかは、ロンドンのスタジオ、そして帰国後は尾道の家で、２５個のダンボールフレームを作りました。加えて、いろんなオーナメントもチームワルパさんの手を借りて準備し、それを使って、「自分だけの」フレームを作る、というワークショップをしました。

みなさん、本当に無心にフレームや、ランタン（これもチームワルパさんがご用意してくださったものです）をデコレートして、出来上がりは、いろんなストーリーや思いの込められた素敵なものばかりでした。

時々こんなふうに心任せの時間を過ごすのって大切なんですね。

これからもイギリスに暮らしながら「素敵な時間」を見つけては、日本に持ち帰ってたくさんの人とそれを共有していきたいなと思いました。

Whilst we were away in Japan we did a lot of very special things, but a wonderful memory we have is of our one-day pop up shop in Tokyo, hosted in the fabulous Sweeney Tokyo Barber space in Nihonbashi.

Some of you may know this barber shop already, as it involved Yukari working closely with the owner (our good friend Kei) to create an eccentric yet relaxing space for his customers to wind down after a day of work. With its gallery walls framed with mementos and keepsakes from his time in London, and a cool industrial feel to the architecture, it was the perfect fit for our small shopping day.

Whilst many friends popped in to look around, we were also delighted to have people message us with what they wanted- we were more than happy to oblige thanks to Japan's trusty postal service. Click through for some of the things we had on offer; alongside our own hand printed products and Yukari's ceramics we also had a fab supply of curiosities and antiques on hand, too.

Thank you so much to everyone who came, we are looking forward to doing it all over again next year, hopefully with even more to offer!

暑い夏をどうお過ごしでしょうか。
ロンドンも割と真っ当な暑い夏の日が多い今日この頃です。

さて、遅れ遅れの投稿で申し訳ありませんのですけど、今回は、帰国中のポップアップストアの様子を見ていただこうと思います。

場所は、東京、浜町にあるスウィニー東京バーバーです。
みなさん（多分）ご存知のまるで家族なKくんのお店です。
このお店は、夕方からのみの営業。しかもワンチェア。
インテリアはロンドンの私たちと一緒に作り上げたブリティッシュなインテリアです。
今回はここを借りてのポップアップでした。
お友達や、お客様に来ていただいて、楽しくショッピングをしていただいたり、実際来られなかったお客様には写真などの情報を見ていただいて、オーダーや、お取置きをいただきました。
ありがとうございます。スタジオのプロダクトだけではなく、私たちがセレクトしたビンテージものなどもいわゆる「一期一会」という感じで手に入れていただけました。

来年もまたポップアップをしたいと思います。場所はまだわかりませんけども、一段と楽しいものにしたいと思っておりますので、どうぞよろしくお願いします。

この場を借りまして、来てくださったお友達、お客様、メッセージのやり取りだけで、オーダーやお取置きをしてくださったお友達やお客様、それを大切に贈ってくださった日本のポスタルサービス、デリバリーサービス、そして場所を貸してくれたKくん、ありがとうございました。

Hello hello!

After a very long time away, we are finally back home in London at our little studio-shop in Greenwich!

We apologise for the radio silence here on Facebook- over the coming weeks we will share with you all of our adventures had in Japan. To kick things off, lets start with a little look at our clothing collaboration launch, with photos taken in our (second!) hometown of Onomichi, featuring Kimika in the tops, skirts and dresses produced with our designs. It was so lovely to see all of our work come together on a special TV broadcast, and whilst it was very nerve-racking for Yukari, we had an absolutely wonderful time with the team at ShopChannel. We were also so pleased when so many of our friends confessed that they had watched the broadcast and bought the clothes- we really did feel so blessed to be surrounded by such special support!

３ヶ月という長い帰国から無事ロンドンのスタジオに戻り、新しいプロジェクトや、オーダー、お問い合わせなど、忙しくしていたらあっという間に１ヶ月が経ってしまいました。

インスタの方には、帰国中の様子など上げていましたけれど、こちらはご無沙汰をしてしまいました。

なので、少しずつおさらいのように近況報告などさせていただこうと思います。

怖かったショップチャンネル出演も無事終わりまして、たくさんの方に励ましていただいたり、ご購入いただいたり、メッセージをいただいて本当に感謝しております。
