💜 Monday Mayhem + Update 💜

We missed Sunday shenanigans! We also forgot it was a bank holiday and that we had family visiting 😅 Brain fog is real…

But Indy has been keeping the landscape gardeners in check (except for Wednesday when she had a much needed grooming session), and Jesse decided she wanted to change her role from Technical Support to Excavation Extraordinaire. But she refused to wear the hard hat as it doesn’t go well with her complexion. We got into a stare down about this disagreement. She won.

Piper found a new box to live in. We have a million cat beds and blankets. But apparently a tatty box is so much better…

Indy had lots of ‘bitey face’ games with her bestie this weekend and of course when you tell them to stop, they give you the sweet and innocent face.

CUSTOMS CLEARANCE PRE ORDER
We are apparently getting close to ‘release’ of the pre order, but nothing can speed up customs. We know what went wrong and what we are doing to fix it going forward too. Basically, the broker decided to cut corners without our knowledge and put multiple container contents on one declaration. One of the items was some dodgy electronics. These had no safety cert, and after weeks of frustration and lies from the buyer of them, they have been deemed unsafe and need destroying. But they can’t just pull our kits out and release them. Because they are on the same original broker paperwork as the electronics, they are being held until the electronics are officially destroyed and then they can be released as ‘safe’. With the school holidays, staff rotation has also delayed the process of this…

And this is why we don’t like pre orders 😅

The second they are released, you’ll probably be able to hear my scream of joy in all four corners of the world, and then I’ll update here!

💜 Indy has a summer job! 💜

Not diamond related so please scroll if you aren’t interested. We won’t take offence!

But we know you love seeing when Indy cameos on other peoples socials 😅 The new garden being designed for her has started demolition and she’s helping pull out plants and dig up the lawn. She may need to be kept out the way when the rebuild starts as she isn’t know for her ‘finesse’ 😳

Personally I can’t wait until that old uneven fence is replaced… I’m sure she’ll help in tearing that down soon 😂

💜 Sunday Shenanigans 💜

Socials are quiet, but it doesn’t mean we’re quiet in the background - we SHOULD get good news from customs in the next couple of days. We haven’t shared much about that scenario but when we get them here we’ll let you know what happened and exactly how annoyed we are… and what we’ll do to stop it happening again! Plans are already in place.

But as always the official mascot keeps us distracted, and her entourage of unofficial mascots fill in the gaps when she’s napping. Anchoring her b***y to the floor for squirrel watch… booping everyone she comes across to get treats and invading personal space.

Then the unofficial ones steal her new bed and generally just get in the way…

Yes that is a cement mixer and other heavy duty machinery in the background. Indy is getting a garden makeover for the next few weeks. I see it as a few weeks of extra chaos but swapping lawn for astroturf means a cleaner winter! Indy sees it as daily visitors to demand treats and cuddles from.

🐈‍⬛ Black Cat Appreciation Day 🐈‍⬛

We aren’t really allowed to let this day go by without recognising it, especially as we are owned by three of these bossy creatures…

But today is National Black Cat Appreciation Day! Last year we had one void kitty. We inherited Boo in 2020 when she was 6 years old. She’s always been in the family and somewhere I’m sure I have baby photos of her. Fun fact - I actually named her…

Then last September, the cat distribution system decided we needed more void chaos. Lots of you joined us on that rollercoaster 😅 And that’s where we gained Raine, who has since transitioned to Sq**rt (as Raine is too elegant for her,) and Piper who took a little while to locate.

Now living their best life. Please appreciate the black ones… They aren’t boring. They aren’t disposable. What they lack in colour, they make up for with sass and attitude and although our world is now full of chaos, we love the little buggers.

Here’s to Boo, Sq**rt and Piper! Hopefully many years of void chaos remains 🥂 🐈‍⬛

💜 Sunday Shenanigans 💜

Sq**rt broke the internet with her optical illusion photo… it hasn’t been altered but it does make you think… which legs are those?

We had a special guest for a couple of days due to his parents having some conflicting work shifts and we were SUPER happy to have him! In fact I nearly stole him. So Indy has a new buddy to play with from time to time. We’ll just call him ‘Bud’ for privacy reasons as he isn’t our pupper. But he is welcome back any time. 💯 GOOD BOY!

Everyone has remained drama free for the week. Indy decided the pool is better when it’s empty and upside down for drying. The cats have been having lots of snoozes.

And then today happened. There are no words. Just look at the last two photos. There is a reason I call her the swamp monster. Everyone on the park keeps saying what a good girl she is, so pretty and how fortunate I am to have such a lovely girl. Really? REALLY? Have you SEEN how much horse 💩 she just brought home in her coat? That took 30 seconds. She darted off into the woodland trails, I shouted her, she came back out 30 seconds later looking like this. The amount of people bursting out laughing as we did the walk of shame to get home and wash her off was embarrassing 😂

Happy Sunday! We hope your home smells a lot fresher than ours does today! We need a good air out of the downstairs… febreeze isn’t up to this job today… 😅

💜 Update 💜

Pre Order Batch Two is still in the customs inspection queue as of yesterday afternoon.

This most recent, albeit short, heatwave has rendered the office unusable for health and safety reasons. It’s over 40C in there… 😱 Today will be cooler than yesterday, but still hot.

Temps are going to drop from tomorrow so I’ll likely be working Sunday to catch up. Health is our priority, and making sure the mascots behave themselves in this heat.

So today isn’t a day off, it’s a ‘postponed until the weekend’ day. The work I needed to do today will be done on Saturday or Sunday.

💜 Update! And Incoming Heatwave 💜

We know you’re sick of us saying ‘customs’ so let us break it down for you… the boat with PRE ORDER BATCH TWO docked on July 22nd. Since then, the container has been unloaded and customs were reviewing the paperwork. They were intrigued and decided to pull it for inspection.

In this timeframe they decided they no longer had the paperwork. So it was resent. Then the person that received it went on holiday. So a second person asked us for the paperwork again.

We’ve now heard that the paperwork is fine but it’s in a queue for physical viewing. The school holidays are like the worst time to have anything go through customs as the staff are on a permanent rotation 😅

So for now, all we can do is just keep positive and ‘GO WITH THE FLOW’ as per Thaneeya. There is nothing dodgy happening. It’s just one of those things that tends to happen to us… 🙃

☀️ Wednesday and Thursday are scorchers again… unless the pre orders arrive (nothing will stop us starting those - I’ll freeze my clothes if I have to) then there will be no packing on those days. If I pack in that heat then our machinery requires hourly maintenance by removing the melted glue from the tape dispenser and cooling down the thermal printer 😅

💜 Sunday Shenanigans 💜

Thankfully this week was much less eventful… I didn’t have to hop into the river to shove a blonde chunky girl out… (it wasn’t dangerous to either of us, the water came to below my knees, Indy was fully capable of standing up whilst waiting for ‘rescue’) 🛟

But I did manage to grab a photo or two of everyone this week! Indy decided to soak in the river and then roll in the soil. Creating a muddy mess in the middle of a heatwave… she has zero regrets.

Murphy was harassed by a local magpie. We’ve nicknamed him Malcolm. We get lots of magpies, but this one spends a lot of time in our garden. He’s decided that the ‘debt collector’ is no threat and hopped around the garden eating ants and collecting Indy floof for his nest. Murphy only moved when Malcolm pecked a little too close to him. 🐦‍⬛

Then he decided to play with the tennis ball. That is a standard sized tennis ball 🎾 - yes, his paws really are THAT BIG.

Piper is eating as if she’s pregnant (she isn’t!). But three pouches in one sitting? That’s a record for us… we go through a lot of cat meat, but they normally spread it over a few meals! Not one sitting! 🍔

Sq**rt is tired of the hot weather.

Jesse decided to roll in all the dry grass and get covered in debris. Then complain when I brushed it out.

Boo attacked me as if I were paparazzi and headbutted the camera. 📸

NO PHOTO YET: but a fox has decided we aren’t scary and will just wander around the garden in broad daylight as if he doesn’t have a care in the world. I mean, we wouldn’t hurt him and the cats know their limits. But if Indy were to see him she’d be barking and chasing. She goes crazy when she picks up any wildlife scent despite our attempts to stop her. Probably because the cheeky buggers keep pinching her toys if we forget to bring them in at night. 🦊
