I want go around the UK over the next few weeks whilst GoW is on tv and chat to local yarn shop owners. Let’s see what’s selling, what’s new, what classes are on offer, social groups etc. the amount of experience and knowledge that you can find in your local yarn shop is quite phenomenal.

🛒🛍️ Supporting bricks and mortar shops (even using their websites) has a huge impact on that community and not only the local economy but the whole ecomomy. If you’ve been inspired by Game of Wool then check out some of these shops….they could be close to you. If not use their websites! Yes you may be paying a little more compared to Amazon and big online stores but those can’t give you advice, tips, support, friendships, conversation, community and so much more.

This September makes the start of my 10th year in the shop! I left teaching in 2016 to run this little bricks and mortar shop with no clue of business….10 years later, the shop is thriving and I still have no clue of business hey (he’s been there all 10 years and right from the start doing my books!!)😂😂😂 these are my 10 best makes over the 10 years, I need your help to choose the best and we’ll countdown to the best on a special birthday live stream on the 28th September 8pm on YouTube. So much to show on tonight’s show at 8pm on YouTube. It’s Summer!!! I’ll show off my finished Reverie Crochet Vest that I crocheted in white cotton and then dip dyed in a cool Lavenham Blue fade. I’ve been shopping for dress fabric to do makes whilst the sewing bee is on (what a great first episode hey?) fabric from BeyondthePinkdoor.com we’ll talk sewing bee and the new influences from the catwalks of Armani, D&G and Dior. It’s finished! Perfect for Summer! My Christmas Crochet Cast on! A pattern by of . It nearly got frogged on finish it February but with a one extra round of each granny square it fitted and fitted a treat! It was originally in white cotton and then I dip dyed it into my woad vat that I use for my Lavenham Blue Yarn. You can see more of me and this garment at the beach this Sunday on YouTube!
