Having spent a few fabulously relaxed days on the North Coast of Cornwall, I thought I’d have a go at trying to capture the beauty of some of my favourite bays. Can you guess which this one is?

Some girls are made of sunshine and city lights.

I think I was made of salt and sea glass 😀

There’s something about standing at the edge of the water that makes everything else fall quiet. The noise, the lists, the should-haves — all of it washed clean by one wave.

I didn’t choose Cornwall. I think it chose me.

And the sea? The sea has had my heart longer than I can remember. She’s moody and magnificent, still and stormy, gentle and completely untameable — and honestly, same.

This is my place. These are my people (the crabs, the gulls, the grey days when no one else comes down to the shore).

Some places leave a mark on your memory. Others become part of who you are.

For me, it’s always been the coast.

The changing blues, the sunlight dancing across the water, the quiet moments spent watching the tide come and go… they’re woven into every piece I create. Rockpool is inspired by those magical pockets of colour and life you discover when the tide retreats—tiny worlds filled with movement, texture and endless shades of blue.

My hope is that this piece brings a little of that feeling into your home. A daily reminder to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the calm that’s always waiting by the sea.

In a world where AI can create an image in seconds, I believe there’s something increasingly precious about art made by human hands.

The imperfections. The layers. The hours spent experimenting, making mistakes, changing direction and following a feeling rather than a formula.

Every original painting carries something that technology can’t truly replicate. A moment in time. An emotion. An experience. A little piece of the person who created it.

AI is changing the creative world, and while it has its place, I believe it’s also making us appreciate the beauty of something genuinely human.

Because art isn’t simply about creating something beautiful. It’s about the connection between the artist, the artwork and the person who chooses to live with it.

And perhaps, in a world where almost anything can be generated, authenticity will become the greatest luxury of all.

Made slowly. Made with feeling. Made by a human.

There’s a kind of freedom that only the ocean seems to give.

That feeling of looking out and seeing nothing but space. No edges. No boundaries. Just blue stretching beyond where the eye can follow.

Beyond the Blue was inspired by that expansiveness — by the quiet calm of open water, the soft ripples moving across its surface, and the gentle rhythm of the tide as it rises, falls and begins again.

I love the way the sea can feel both powerful and peaceful at once. Always moving, yet somehow still. A reminder that we don’t always have to resist the flow; sometimes we can simply move with it.

This piece is about space to breathe, space to think, and that unmistakable sense of calm that comes from being close to the water.

Mesmerising in the way only the sea can be… ✨

Layers of turquoise, soft whites and deep inky blue seem to pull you inward, like looking down into a hidden rockpool or catching a glimpse of another world beneath the surface.

I love how this piece feels both full of movement and completely calming at the same time. The tiny organic shapes seem to drift, gather and separate, while that deep centre creates a sense of stillness — a quiet place for the eye to rest.

For me, it’s that contrast that makes it so captivating: light and depth, movement and calm, energy and escape.

A piece to lose yourself in for a while. 💙

What’s your favourite colour?

Mine has always been blue.

Not just a colour, but a feeling.

The blue of clear water, endless skies, and that quiet moment beneath the surface where everything slows down. It’s where I feel most at peace—away from the noise, immersed in light, movement, and calm.

The ocean has inspired me for as long as I can remember. As a child, I would imagine swimming beneath the waves into a world of stillness and wonder. That longing for freedom, beauty, and serenity continues to find its way into every painting I create.

When I paint, I’m not simply capturing the colours of the sea. I’m trying to capture the feeling it gives me—the sense of escape, healing, and connection that comes from being close to the water.

Perhaps that’s why blue keeps calling me back.

There’s a softness in this piece that keeps drawing me back.

The sky glows with warm peach and apricot tones, while blush pink drifts quietly across the horizon. The light isn’t dramatic or demanding—it lingers gently, illuminating everything it touches with a sense of calm.

When I painted Where Light Glows, I was thinking about those moments when hope arrives almost unnoticed. Not in a grand gesture, but in a subtle shift. A softening. A feeling that something beautiful is beginning to emerge.

For me, this painting is about trusting that light can find us even in uncertain seasons. That growth often happens quietly. That beauty doesn’t always announce itself.

Sometimes the most meaningful transformations begin as the faintest glow on the horizon.
