This weekend we'll be at the Midlands Woodworking Show, Newark Showground in Nottinghamshire. Attracting visitors from across the country, the show boasts a variety of exhibitors and this weekend looks set to be as busy as ever. We'll have a wide range of veneer stock available for sale including a selection of mixed veneer packs and our loose sheet veneers in a variety of sizes.

Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga Menziesii) is usually a light brown colour with a hint of red and/or yellow. The wood possesses darker growth rings which are a good deal harder than the other growth. The grain is generally straight or slightly wavy with medium to coarse texture.

Sweet Chestnut (Castanea Sativa) has a light to medium brown heartwood that can darken to a reddish brown with age. The wood's grain is straight to spiral or interlocked with a coarse and uneven texture. In general it resembles oak but without the medullary rays.
