A charming pair of early 20th-century Shelley China art pottery candlesticks, produced in England between 1912–1925. Finished in an elegant matte black ground with contrasting powder blue stems, they are decorated in the Art Deco taste with colourful fruit motifs and striking black-and-white ribbon bows.

Shape No. 741 and Pattern No. 8545. The bold yet refined design beautifully reflects Shelley’s distinctive decorative style during the period.

Condition:
Very good antique condition with only minor wear to the bases and minimal surface scratches commensurate with age and use.

Available for sale —— Exquisite mid-19th century Coalport porcelain cup and saucer, beautifully decorated in the elegant Sèvres style, circa 1850.

The set features delicate hand-painted floral sprays framed by vibrant turquoise jewelled borders against a soft pink ground, all richly highlighted with fine gilding. Particularly charming is the unusual twisted split handle, adding a refined sculptural quality to the piece. The decoration is graceful, feminine and wonderfully reminiscent of antique French porcelain.

Condition:
Very good antique condition. Minor wear to gilding and minimal short surface scratches commensurate with age. Minimal fine and short crazing to both sides of the split handle. Minimal firing specks.

Dimensions:
Cup: 8.5 cm diameter across rim; 6.5 cm height
Saucer: 14 cm diameter

A truly striking and uncommon Aesthetic Movement porcelain trio by E.J.D. Bodley, dating to circa 1876. This exquisite set beautifully embodies the artistic taste of the late Victorian period, featuring an elegant pink ground richly decorated with delicate flowering branch motifs, intricate gilt geometric borders, and charming moulded detailing.

Particularly distinctive is the wonderfully unusual bamboo-form handle, adding a touch of Japonisme influence so admired during the Aesthetic era. The softly moulded surfaces and refined decorative scheme create a design that is both graceful and highly collectible.

Printed/impressed diamond registration mark to the base.

Condition:
Very good antique condition overall. Free from crazing, cracks, chips, damage, or restoration. Displays only light age-related wear including:
• Minor wear to gilding
• Minimal light surface scratches

Today, the weather drifted between rain and sunshine. As I gazed out the window, I quietly waited for a rainbow 🌈 to appear across the sky. Though none came, a sweeter surprise found its way to me instead — the rainbow appeared right here in my home.
