“£5,653 F@ Up”

A stunning home. A brand new click LVT floor. And every single thing that could go wrong — did.

Moving. Denting. Clicking. Expanding.

When we pulled it up, we found out why. Instead of a screeding the previous fitter had laid overlay boards directly over the underfloor heating pipes. It looked like a shortcut. It was. And the customer paid the price.

£5,653 worth of flooring. Ripped out.

So here’s what we’re doing to fix it properly.

We’re pulling up every single one of those overlay boards. Getting back down to the underfloor heating system. And then we’re applying an underfloor heating compatible screed — the right way, the way it should have been done from day one.

Only once that screed is down and the base is solid we’ll be installing a glue down herringbone floor.

This is exactly why subfloor preparation is everything. You can fit the most expensive floor in the world — if the base isn’t right, it will fail. Every time.

“POV: you start off choosing flooring… and somehow end up redesigning your entire house around the staircase 😂🔥”

This one’s been a proper special project for us ❤️

A full luxury carpet & flooring installation in this beautiful home in Hale, featuring stunning engineered herringbone wood flooring by Woodpecker Flooring flowing through the kitchen diner and living spaces… paired with deep pile luxury carpets and a fully bespoke stair runner installation finished with black edging and matching black stair rods 😮‍💨

And honestly… this staircase has got serious main character energy 😂

One of the things we loved most about this project was how calm and natural everything felt. Soft neutral interiors, warm natural wood tones, luxury textures, sunlight bouncing through the parquet flooring… the whole house just feels elegant without trying too hard.

You’ll even spot our videographer Sean floating around the house trying to capture “the shot” whilst we all pretend we’re filming an episode of Grand Designs for the day 🎥🤣

But this is exactly why we love what we do.
