We made this little infographic to share an overview of peat, and why it's important to go peat-free!

When I started planning Eco Plant Shop, I knew from the get-go we would be peat-free. After learning about how vital soil is for food security, flood management, climate change, our health, and many other things, I did a bit of a deep dive into all things soil!

Although there's many things that we could talk about, in the UK, one of the biggest issues when it comes to soil, is the peat extraction that goes on.

I hope this post gives you a little highlight of why we need to protect peatlands. If this is something you want more info on, I'm happy to send you some good things to read (just DM me!).

Some retailers offer a few peat-free plants, but there are hardly any completely peat-free businesses. Part of the reason why I started Eco Plant Shop was to provide more options for you lovely people to have houseplants without the environmental impact!❤🌱
