Fluid; when colour becomes movement.

For interior designers, the most exciting surfaces are the ones that break the rules of static design and Fluid does exactly that.

This collection reimagines ceramic as a living canvas, where colour flows, blends and evolves across the surface like liquid pigment. The result is a series of tiles that feel dynamic, expressive and unapologetically contemporary. Never fixed, always in motion.

Formed in a versatile 18.6 × 18.6 cm porcelain format, Fluid offers both solid tones and highly decorative patterns, allowing you to shift effortlessly between calm, tonal backdrops and bold, statement compositions. Think “pigment flows” layered, organic and constantly changing, designed to bring energy into a space.

The palette is deliberately curated: eight core colours paired with expressive designs like Matcha Tea, Blue Cappuccino and Berries Licious. Each one adding a distinct personality to your scheme.

Calathea by AcquarioDue; where craft and nature converge.

There are tiles that cover a wall, and then there’s Calathea. Inspired by the organic forms of leaf foliage and brought to life through artisan ceramic tradition, this collection creates surfaces that are as sculptural as they are expressive. The relief pattern (reminiscent of gently overlapping leaves) creates a dynamic play of light and shadow, adding depth and movement to every surface.

Available in an extraordinary range of finishes from glossy Lucida and rich Craklè to soft Wonder matt enamels and even precious Gold & Platinum third-fire accents; Calathea adapts effortlessly to diverse design narratives, from refined residential living rooms and boutique hotel receptions to expressive restaurant backdrops and feature walls that demand attention.

Each piece is handcrafted with meticulous skill, producing rich tonal variations and unique colour harmonies that feel living rather than static. It’s a tile that doesn’t just sit in a space - it is the space.

For designers who appreciate material poetry, texture with intention and surfaces that evolve with light, Calathea is your canvas.

"It opens your mind up to what the product can do.”

One of the most rewarding parts of our tile factory trips is hearing directly from the designers joining us and in this case, Simon Knox from Lewis Knox speaking with Duncan Cook during our visit to Florim Ceramiche in Modena.

As Simon explains, seeing materials in person [at scale] completely changes the design process. It’s one thing working from samples day to day, but another entirely to experience the tiles within fully realised room sets, to understand how they interact with light, space and architecture.

These trips give designers the opportunity to:
◾ See the full manufacturing journey
◾ Understand the quality and craftsmanship behind the product
◾ Explore large-scale showroom installations not typically possible in the UK
◾ Discover new ways to specify materials
◾ Gain fresh inspiration to take back to the studio

And perhaps most importantly, they create space for conversations, collaboration and shared creativity between people who are passionate about design.

After all, sometimes the best ideas come when you step away from the desk and immerse yourself in the process.

As we gear up for this year’s trips to Italy, we’re revisiting a conversation from one of last year's visits with Robert Hughes Studio; and it perfectly captures what these experiences are really about.

These trips go far beyond a showroom visit. They’re about getting hands-on with materials, seeing tiles at scale, understanding texture, colour and finish in a way you simply can’t from a sample box. They’re about walking the manufacturing journey end to end; from raw material to finished surface, and gaining insight that directly informs better specification back in the UK.

But just as important? The human side.

Spending time with like-minded creatives, sharing ideas, eating well, laughing a lot; and yes, occasionally letting your hair down. The conversations that happen over dinner or on the factory floor are often just as valuable as the technical knowledge.

Robert articulates it beautifully in this interview - why seeing, touching and experiencing materials in context changes how you design, and why these trips create genuine, lasting relationships.

If you’ve ever wondered what our Italy trips involve, this is it. Insight, inspiration, and a great time shared with brilliant people.

For interior designers looking to move beyond the expected, Impronte offers something far more expressive than a standard tile. It’s a layer of narrative, texture and meaning.

Each piece is formed in white-body ceramic using traditional plaster mould techniques, creating refined reliefs that feel sculptural and deeply tactile. The result is a surface where marks, symbols and patterns come together, almost like impressions left in time, turning walls into something far more emotive than decoration.

What makes Impronte particularly compelling is its design versatility:

◾A mix of square and hexagonal formats
◾Three distinct relief patterns inspired by botanical, geometric and symbolic motifs
◾A wide spectrum of finishes; from crackle glazes and soft matt textures to high-gloss enamels and even gold or platinum detailing

This allows designers to create spaces that feel layered, crafted and completely individual whether used as a feature wall, an insert detail, or a full surface treatment across bathrooms, living spaces or hospitality settings.

Outdoor spaces are no longer defined by boundaries, they’re defined by how they feel. And the most compelling designs are those that understand one simple principle: light is a material.

Arialuce reimagines ceramic as something more than cladding. Crafted from extruded terracotta, these sculptural lattice tiles create architectural screens that filter light, frame views and soften transitions between spaces.

As sunlight moves throughout the day, Arialuce transforms with it by casting shifting shadows, layered patterns and moments of quiet drama across terraces, courtyards and poolside environments. It’s not static design. It’s living architecture.

With three distinctive geometries, designers can control the balance of light, privacy and airflow, creating spaces that feel open yet intimate, structured yet organic.

Rooted in Italian craftsmanship yet unapologetically contemporary, Arialuce allows you to shape outdoor environments that are atmospheric, breathable and beautifully resolved.

A poolscape defined by tone, texture and temperature.

When designing around water, balance is everything. This combination of Cupira Marengo, Cupira Hueso and Amazonia Canela shows how considered surface choices can shape an outdoor space that feels calm, grounded and quietly luxurious.

The depth of Marengo anchors the scheme; cool, mineral and architectural. Hueso softens the transition, lifting the palette with a gentle warmth that reflects light beautifully around the pool edge. Then Amazonia Canela brings a natural counterpoint: warmer, tactile and subtly organic, creating a seamless dialogue between water, surface and surrounding landscape.

Together, these tiles work in harmony to deliver more than just performance. They create an atmosphere. One that feels relaxed yet refined, contemporary yet timeless. Ideal for pool surrounds where slip resistance, durability and visual continuity are just as important as aesthetics.

Terrae; designing with the essence of earth.

For interior designers seeking materials with depth, story and authenticity, Terrae offers something quietly powerful.

This is a collection rooted in the raw beauty of natural clay where surface, texture and tone come together to echo the slow, organic processes of nature. Subtly undulating and softly tactile, each tile feels as though it’s been shaped by water, wind and time itself.

Formed in a refined 7×14cm format, Terrae invites creativity. Whether laid in stacked, staggered or more expressive compositions, it allows you to build surfaces that feel rhythmic, crafted and architectural rather than purely decorative.

The palette is a study in material nuance; from soft mineral whites and warm sands to deeper, more expressive tones and metallic accents. Each shade is designed to layer effortlessly, creating spaces that feel grounded, calm and considered.

With 47% recycled content, Terrae also speaks to a more conscious approach to specification; where sustainability and design integrity go hand in hand.

For garden designers, contractors and pool specialists, the most successful spaces are those that feel seamless, intentional and grounded in material authenticity.

Crosscut takes its cue from classic Italian travertine, reinterpreted with a contemporary edge. Defined by its transversal cut, the collection reveals a surface rich in natural cavities and tonal variation — delivering a finish that feels both architectural and organic.

The palette is deliberately refined; from the warmth of Petra, to the clean neutrality of Puro, through to the cooler, more contemporary Cloud allowing you to tailor schemes that sit effortlessly within both natural landscapes and modern builds.

This is a surface designed not just to look exceptional, but to perform — durable, low maintenance and built for exterior environments, from private gardens to large-scale hospitality projects.

A Cheshire home where materiality leads the design.

In high-end residential projects, it’s never about a single statement, it’s about how materials layer, contrast and elevate one another.

For this Cheshire home, our client curated a palette that balances sculptural texture with refined minimalism. The vertical rhythm of Flauti tiles introduces movement and architectural depth, while the softness of Tune Snow brings a quiet, tonal clarity that allows the space to breathe.

Moments of detail come through in the use of Mutina Folded; a surface that plays with light and shadow, adding a crafted, almost tactile precision to the scheme. Meanwhile, Marazzi Memoria Stamp 3D Bianco delivers a subtle decorative layer, enriching the overall composition without overwhelming it.

The result? A space that feels considered, calm and confidently luxurious, where every surface has purpose, and every texture contributes to the experience.

Our view: the most successful homes aren’t just designed, they’re composed.
