This absolute style icon recently stole a Moorcroft vase (not mine) from St. Martins antique centre in Stamford, Lincolnshire UK. Unfortunately, due to the popularity of the centre and how busy it can get, he walked out with it under his ridiculous coat at an opportune moment whilst staff were busy. He was however caught from many angles by CCTV and noted by other customers, but not stopped before he left. Police are now very much involved, so if anyone can assist in speeding up the process by providing any info, it would be much appreciated! And if you see this distinguished chap in your establishment, call the police immediately.

I’ve never mentioned it here before, but if you’re in the UK I actually have a booth in St. Martins antique centre, Stamford, where this grand portrait of a young cleric is now available for sale. Bigger than it looks, it is signed and dated 1853 and has had an ebonised outer box frame added to protect the classical gilt frame, which is in stunning condition. It’s on display in Stamford, but could POSSIBLY be shipped abroad, I’m afraid it wouldn’t be cheap though…

ANNOUNCEMENT - as of today, Royal Mail are no longer accepting parcels bound for the USA. Thanks to the ongoing efforts of the US president to ruin the global economy, it appears that Royal Mail have suspended all services from the UK to the USA for the foreseeable future, with little to no information as to whether it will resume any time soon.

As most of us already knew, the $800 tax free allowance was to cease on the 29th of this month, and as of yesterday parcels were still being sent. My hope was that the system used for calculating import duty on orders over that value could simply be applied to everything under it after this date, so duty would have to be paid before receiving (10% for UK items), but that appears to have been too much effort to sort out in time.

Since the tariff change announcements, Royal Mail were the most competitive service for small parcels

Something I can get my teeth into. A superb original 19thC carnival ball toss board, painted with a menacing lion’s face straight out of the picture books… totally evocative of the macabre Victorian fairground!
