It is the final day of opening our doors at in klöver and we can honestly say that it has been with a full heart. Our team has navigated the past couple of months with such grace. This is a reflection of how retail and the last few years have helped us all to build resilience as we creatively adapted and navigated the many challenges along the way.

Most importantly, we have learnt how staying true to our values can both sustain us and also enable us to change direction when the time is right. Over the coming days, we will deconstruct something we spent years building but continue to reflect on this entire journey as a period of growth. in klöver has provided us all with valuable experiences and connections. These are building blocks that each one of us will take into the next chapter.

Thank you team in klöver and thank you to all who have supported us!

We will be open in Moira & Hillsborough from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Christmas Eve with 10% of ALL sales going to our chosen charity - The Welcome Organisation, Belfast ✨

We’ll then be closed and open for the following limited hours in January whilst we work through our closure…

“It is with a full heart that I announce the closure of in klöver at the end of this year. We have been championing independent artists and makers since 2016 and still very much believe in what we do, but we must embrace a changing world…

Since opening, we have seen the rise of artisanal markets, online shopping and the opening of more maker spaces and funded outlets. This has increasingly put pressure on supply meaning that we no longer have the product or footfall that we need to keep going. We have always been fully committed to handmade and don’t want to compromise on values in an attempt to survive. It is amazing to see new trends and additional platforms for independent makers. We see these changes as furthering the mission of showcasing all things handmade and hope that they’ll provide artists with the opportunities that in klöver has provided and more.

We’ll continue to bring you a curated range of handcrafted gifts and original art until Christmas so please do snap up anything you have admired before it’s too late! Our amazing team are committed to providing the best service right up to our final day, with gift wrapping and bespoke framing available until then. There will be selected offers in store and online from now until Christmas but to be fair to our makers, we have no plans to have a storewide sale. Gift vouchers will no longer be available to purchase but existing vouchers can be redeemed in store and online up to 24th December 2024.

We have absolutely loved being at the heart of our villages and express sincere gratitude to all who have supported us. We wouldn’t have been able to do what we do without you and our amazing team of ten. The future of our high street is unknown, but we hope that maybe our new world can be more beautiful in other ways... 🤍”

*** APPEAL to Moira & Hillsborough area ***

We are currently seeking donations of SLEEPING BAGS* and INSTANT COFFEE for the Welcome Organisation charity. The Welcome Organisation, Belfast provides support for people affected by homelessness through a range of services including a drop-in centre, street outreach service, crisis accommodation for women, floating support service and a mobile health unit. Homelessness is an increasing problem and there are lots of reasons why people come to rely on the Welcome Organisation’s vital support. This was highlighted on the recent BBC Spotlight programme ‘Nowhere to Call Home’ which you can watch on BBC iPlayer.

If you have a sleeping bag no longer in use or can donate instant coffee then please drop them in to our Hillsborough or Moira store during our opening hours (*sleeping bags only - no blankets or duvets etc please).
