Soggy Bunny is a line of handmade crocheted baby blankets, comforters and toys available on Etsy and created by me - Katrina, mum of one little girl. The concept behind Soggy Bunny originated with my daughter, Isabella's, favourite bunny comforter which she was gifted when she was born. This bunny was a handmade crocheted bunny head with attached comfort blanket. She took it everywhere with her an

d was the only thing that enabled her to sleep through the night (any Mums and Dad's out there will know the sheer elation this brings!). Overtime it became sucked, chewed, dribbled on and thrown about - and I'm certain it is the most washed item in our house! It's no surprise why this much loved comforter soon became known as 'Soggy Bunny'. Soggy Bunny quickly needed a replica 'not so soggy' bunny , and so during the first covid lockdown of March 2020, this mumma taught herself to crochet! I am so happy with how this turned out. This was my very first attempt at crocheting a clothing item and I’m absolutely chuffed with it!

Typical timing though… I finally finish it just as we are coming out of winter and into Spring! 🌼☀️ Still, I’m sure it’ll be perfect for those slightly cooler spring/summer evenings

🧶❤️ “Mummy, please can you teach me to crochet?” 💕

This half term hasn’t gone quite to plan due to a wierd bug that has kept us home all week. I did have a spot of cabin fever yesterday, but actually it’s been really lovely to have an excuse to just stop racing about all the time - as us mums are so guilty of. Lots of cosy homey days to sit and watch TV, drink cups of tea and have LOTS of poorly cuddles on the sofa . We’ve even had time for a bit of crochet teaching and think I might have a budding assistant on my hands 😍

🎀Handmade Crocheted Poppies in Asfordby for a Great Cause! 🎀

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve crocheted 70 poppies in support of the Royal British Legion. These poppies are now at Captain's Close Primary School and will be available for sale to families and the local community after half-term.

All proceeds will go to Royal British Legion, so come along and grab one to support a fantastic cause! Thank you for your support!

Generous spirited Poppy Appeal supporters, working diligently for months in preparation for the 2025/2026 Oakham and District Poppy Appeal.

The Oakham and District Poppy Appeal for 24/25 raised a total of £25,235.09p

However, since 2014, Oakham and District has raised a total of £263,017.00 in donations; a significant amount, which would not have been raised without the valued and generous support received from volunteers and the people of Oakham and surrounding villages,local traders, statutory authorities, schools and other commercial organisations, it would be impossible to raise the donations that we do.
