On a grey, misty day in Mevagissey I am trying to invoke some summer vibes!
I’ve been making these summery granny squares in order to make a beach bag for the summer (if we get one..!)
Remember I posted before about the importance of blocking? These pictures demonstrate again how important that is. All of these squares have the same outer stitch count, so in theory should all fit easily together. However, because they are created with various different stitches, some work out bigger than others.
Blocking is essentially dampening your squares and stretching them to a uniform size. Then when they have dried, you can sew them together neatly rather than your seams being all higgledy piggledy.
