Our guest bedroom was in need of a refresh, but instead of buying new furniture, I decided to upcycle some cherished family pieces using Frenchic Paint.
With a little preparation, a few coats of paint, and plenty of patience, tired-looking furniture was transformed into beautiful statement pieces that perfectly suit the room. The fresh colours of sage green, pinks & creams has brightened the space, while still preserving the character and memories attached to each item.
The makeover wasn't just about saving money—it was about creating a welcoming guest room filled with personality and family history. Upcycling is a fantastic way to reduce waste, be creative, and achieve a bespoke look that you simply can't buy off the shelf.
The room now feels fresh, cosy, and inviting, ready for family and friends to enjoy. Seeing these old pieces transformed has reminded me that sometimes the best furniture is the furniture you already own.

This set was painted in Frenchic Paint Lazy Range “Salt of the Earth”, a beautifully soft, neutral tone that brings warmth without overpowering the room. It’s one of those shades that works effortlessly with both modern and traditional interiors, making the whole set feel calm, grounded, and inviting.
To add contrast and character, the tabletop was carefully sanded back to reveal the natural wood beneath. Rather than leaving it raw, a subtle colour wash was applied across the surface. This technique enhances the grain while softening the overall look, creating a gentle, weathered finish that feels both rustic and refined.
The combination of the painted base and the washed wood top strikes a lovely balance — light yet full of texture. It’s a reminder that upcycling isn’t just about saving money; it’s about creating something unique, full of personality, and perfectly suited to your home.
Now, instead of blending into the background, this dining set has become a true focal point — ready for everyday meals, gatherings, and everything in between.

Take a look at some of our latest pieces weve been working on! Using Frenchic Paint, with its self-priming, self-sealing qualities means we can work efficiently while still achieving a professional, long-lasting finish.
It also aligns with our values—low VOC, eco-conscious, and made with sustainability in mind. When you’re upcycling, the materials you use matter just as much as the pieces you’re transforming.
We also embrace the beauty of imperfection and don’t aim to erase every mark of age. Subtle textures, faint lines, and hints of the past are what give each piece its soul. Frenchic helps us enhance those features rather than hide them.
Each item in this collection is one-of-a-kind. Not just restored, but reimagined.
Have a piece you’re thinking of transforming? Start with what you already have—you might be surprised at what it can become. We can do all the work for you or if you even fancy having a go yourself just pop in and we will advise you all the way ❤️

There’s something satisfying about transforming a space that feels almost right—but not quite. This was the case for a recent customer whose room, at first glance, looked lovely. With wooden flooring and oak furniture, it had plenty of natural charm. But altogether, it felt a little too heavy—too much wood—making the space appear darker than intended.
Rather than replacing the furniture or the flooring, the decision was made to refresh the furniture with paint. Using Frenchic Paint Al Fresco "Wedding Cake" the goal was to lift the overall look while keeping the character of the original pieces.
The transformation made a huge difference. By lightening the furniture, the room instantly felt brighter and more open. The contrast between the painted pieces and the wooden floor helped break up the darker tones, creating a more balanced and inviting space.
It’s a great example of how a simple update can completely change the feel of a room—breathing new life into existing furniture while achieving a lighter, fresher finish for the customer.

There’s something special about restoring an old Victorian cabinet—especially when you let its history lead the way. Rather than over-refinishing, a gentle clean with warm water and sugar soap was enough to lift years of dust and reveal the natural beauty of the wood. The small marks and imperfections were left as they are, adding to its character.
The real charm came from the glass. Instead of replacing it, simple vinyl decals were added in a subtle “pharmaceutical Victorian” style—delicate fonts with words like “Remesies" and “Tincture,” inspired by old apothecary labels.
It’s a small detail, but it transforms the piece completely. The cabinet now feels curated and full of story—where vintage elegance meets a quiet, imaginative twist.
