Hello everyone,

Sorry that I have been absent for so long but I have been dealing with some health problems.

I AM LOOKING AT STARTING UP THE LESSONS AGAIN VERY SOON, Starting dates will be added soon.

Even so during this absence I have been busy working on new items that will be going up for sale in my online shop. I have also been working on patterns for all crochet items that have been posted on this page in the past as well as the new items. Photos of the new items will be posted soon.

I'm sorry it's been a hot minute since I last posted anything on here. I've been busy, between holding lessons I have been trying to get all of my patterns typed up for the online shop.

In the crochet sessions
About the different equipment and wools that are available, together with the pros and cons of them.
You will learn casting on and making a foundation line.
You will learn the basic stitches that are in the crochet album
How to measure your tension and how to alter your hook size to match the tension in a pattern.
I will cover the abbreviations that are used in patterns and some of the different terminology used by different countries.
You will then learn how to increase and decrease at the edges and the middle of a line.
You will learn how to form a circle using a foundation chain or a magic loop, and work in circles or form a tube.
You will learn how to join pieces together.
Once we have covered these then I will take you through a few projects that are easy and quick to finish.
Then I will show you how to do the textured stitches that are in the sample album.
You will learn how to make your own patterns
I will show you how to convert a knitting, cross-stitch, diamond painting pattern into a crochet pattern.
Once you have got the hang of these, I will start you off on a project of your own choosing, be that one that is in my collection or one that you have acquired yourself.
At this point you can leave the sessions if you want with the knowledge that if you get stuck that you can arrange a session to sort the problem out.

In the machine sewing sessions you will learn :-
How to use your machine, how to thread your machine, how to fill and load your bobbin. What the different stitches are used for.
How to sew a buttonhole using the normal foot and the buttonhole foot.
How to sew a zip on using the seen and unseen methods using your normal foot and the zip foot.
Project 1 How to make a simple cushion cover, putting into practice the sewing of a hidden zip and showing a simple inside hem.
Project 2 How to make a small drawstring bag, which shows you how to do basic straight and round hems, darts, and tube hem. As well as how to hide these hems with a ribbon. And how to make a material drawstring.
How to sew different hems, a hidden hem, a rolled hem, a curved hem,
How to use the zigzag (overlock) stitch for material that are prone to fraying.
How to sew different pleats, knife pleat, inverted pleat, and box pleat.
Project 3 How to make a half apron, which will show you how to how to sew a waist band, add a pocket and will also put into practice a hidden hem and a curved hem and standard kilt pleats.
How to sew darts in the middle of the material, for under the bust on tops and at the waist of dresses.
How to make hidden pockets.
How to make collars and cuffs.
How to take measurements, to ensure correct fitting.
Learn about the different dressmaking dolls and what the pros and cons of each of them.
Project 4 How to make your own cheap dressmaking doll and learn how to adjust your doll if you lose or gain weight.
How to read a pre-made pattern.
How to cut out your pattern and how to make a mock-up so that you can make adjustments.
How to make your own patterns.
How to make adjustments and repairs to your favourite outfits.
Once you have got the hang of these, I will start you off on a project of your own choosing, be that one that is in my collection or one that you have acquired yourself.
At this point you can leave the sessions if you want with the knowledge that if you get stuck that you can arrange a 1to1 session to sort the problem out.
