Thereās one thing we can pretty much all rely on when it comes to our minds. When something unusual happens in our lives our brains are terribly good at creating stress, worry and the fear that we canāt deal with whatever the problems are coming our way. Maybe they are new or very different to anything we have dealt with before.
So off we go, tossing and turning at night, thinking about this angle, that angle and convince ourselves that it will all lead to the very worst outcome that we can imagine or that we will just fail miserably or ā¦add any other fear of inadequacy here.
Up to a point working through possibilities is a great idea, but when it gets out of hand we need to stop.
Donāt let your anxiety and fear get the better of you today. Donāt believe everything you think!
If this is a serious anxiety attack that stops you from engaging in life then you really should seek help, thereās no failure or shame in that.
Worries and fears do have messages too. Ask yourself why you are so afraid of the outcome, try to understand your own anxiety and maybe it will become less troublesome.
If itās just a silly temporary thing, find a good distraction.
