How about this for a transformation? Roger Hyde Limited gave the sports hall floor Suffolk New College a new lease of life by giving it a full sand and seal using our trusted HP800 Sport Lacquer. New line markings and a bespoke graphic (by Lasercutit) finished the project ready for the new school year. A thing of beauty, if you ask us.

New sports and activity flooring can cut school energy costs by up to 70%.

A recent article in Contract Flooring Journal highlighted new embodied carbon targets for school buildings, including a maximum embodied carbon figure of 550kg CO2e/m² across 200 new schools planned in England over the next five years.

One of the big conversations within the article was around long lifespan materials and biogenic carbon storage through timber flooring.

That’s one of the reasons we continue to work with Junckers Flooring across education environments.

It’s good to see more attention being given to flooring specification at design stage, especially in spaces where durability, sustainability, and long term performance all matter.
