𝗔 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀: 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 with Jenni from Ruffled Flowers

Slow down for an evening and step into the season with Ruffled Flowers.

Join Jenni for a relaxed and inspiring Christmas session celebrating flowers, foraging and the simple pleasure of bringing a little of the outside in.

Through a live Christmas floristry demonstration, Jenni will share how she combines beautiful seasonal flowers with foliage, gathered ingredients and things you might already have growing around you to create something really special for the home.

Along the way, you’ll pick up plenty of practical tips - from conditioning and caring for flowers to simple florist techniques, what to look for on a winter walk, and how to use scent, texture and natural materials to make your Christmas flowers feel completely your own.

There’ll be flowers and seasonal finds to touch, smell and explore, ideas for responsible winter foraging, and a little time to think about the joy of slowing down, noticing what’s around us and creating with nature.

You’ll leave with your own Christmas Flower & Nature Recipe to recreate at home, plus plenty of inspiration for making the most of the season.

And at the end of the evening, one guest will take home Jenni’s finished Christmas arrangement.

No floristry experience needed - just come along, get cosy and enjoy.

A round up of autumn so far.

Autumn Wreath Class to bring in the changing season 🍁

Little Howard Court chick grown into a very handsome big fella.

He came from our farm in his egg and his new mum at Howard Court (who was broody but didn’t have a fertile egg) hatched him!

A tiny bunch of grapes discovered on a vine we planted in spring.

Sweet peas pulled up and lots of flower heads collected in brown bags ready to store all the seeds!

Foraging walk… discovered that a big basket of elderberries makes one tiny bottle of syrup.

Next up - rosehip syrup and I’ve collected 5x the amount I think I need so I hopefully get more bottles!

A really beautiful book for kids and adults if you’re interested in discovering what’s good to forage on your walks.

We like being outside and discovering magic ✨

There’s just too much to tell about the tales of summer. So I’ve decided not to overwhelm myself by going back to the start, instead I’ll start with the weekend just gone.

A celebration of flowers sourced from my friend Songbird Meadow Flower Farm 🌸 , mixed with a few from our plot.

These flowers felt like home. After a manic couple of months, walking into Anne’s out building to collect buckets for this wedding, was such a glorious feeling.
I don’t think I’m alone in saying, as a florist and gardener, September is my favourite flower month.

So whilst I haven’t shared an awful lot from this summer (we all know by now that something has to give, and for me it’s the expectation of the socials!) I have taken lots of beautiful videos and photos that I’m looking forward to sharing.

The garden doesn’t know how strange this summer has felt. It just kept blooming.

It’s been a long summer and a short one, both at once. The kind where days stretched out lazy and slow, and then you blink and it’s nearly over.

Jessie Ware’s “16 Summers” sums up the feeling of summers as a kind of currency, precious and finite and never quite enough of them.

It’s made me look at all of this a little differently. Not sad, exactly. Just aware. Grateful for the light while it’s here.

So here’s to late blooms, long evenings, and holding onto it all a little more tenderly this year. 🌿🌾

Gardening has taught me how wonderful slow progress can be 🌿

Planning with patience is not something that comes easy to me, but with gardening I just accept it.

I honestly recommend to anyone who hasn’t tried growing a plant or tending to their garden to give it a go.

If you’re:

A busy bee
Forever feel in demand
Have a busy job
Never have time
You’re not creative
Not green fingered
Don’t know where to start
…

The list of excuses to why you don’t garden can go on and on. But just ignore them and start NOW. It will change your life.

Also, if you have someone to take pictures like this, that make everything look tranquil and peaceful, that’s a bonus!
Looking at this picture fills me with happiness and also makes me chuckle because I know I’d just been screeching like a banshee 2 seconds earlier.
(Let’s all remind ourselves that nothing is perfect)
