👀Look what I have!💡

A paper catalogue might feel a bit old school these days, but honestly, I love it! I'm a gal who remembers when the new Next Directory was an annual event (cue 90's child nostalgia...)

So I was pretty excited when the latest Industville catalogue landed. Except it's been bundled up with all the Hub designs for so long it didn't get a proper outing!

Their new collection is full of beautiful designs — from statement pieces to more understated options. Lighting is one of my favourite things to choose for a project. It can completely change the feel of a space and, when it’s right, it can make everything else come together.

And if you’d rather see lighting in real life than just on a page, you can! We have a selection of Industville lights installed throughout the Hub, so you can see some of their lovely designs in a real space and get a feel for how they look when they’re actually lit.

Never worked with an interior designer before? Let me take out the mystery. 👋

For the majority of people who have never worked with an interior designer, it can feel a bit of an unknown. But let me take out the mystery — it’s not scary and it’s not magic. It’s a straightforward process (promise!)

And if you’re worried about the scary interior designer stereotype… ask anyone who’s worked with us — they’ll tell you I’m definitely not scary!

So, what actually happens? It starts with you. We talk about how you use your space, what’s not working, what you need and what you like.

Then we turn all of that into ideas and present them visually, which could include:

📐 Floorplans and different layout options
🛋️ Furniture ideas and space planning
🎨 Colour schemes and finishes
📌 Moodboards to bring the overall look together
✨A cohesive design scheme / roadmap so you can implement on your own terms (think of it like a roadmap)

And if you’d like a little more help visualising the finished space, 3D drawings and extra visuals can be added too.

You don’t need to arrive with all the answers. You don’t even need to know exactly what you want.

That’s what we’re here for.

No mystery. No magic. Just a clear, collaborative process to create a space that works for you.

Looking for inspiration? ✨

We’re firm believers that inspiration can come from absolutely anywhere....
A hotel you stayed in. A restaurant you loved. A colour you spotted on a walk. A piece of furniture you can’t stop thinking about.

When we’re working on a project, we love collecting all those little ideas and references — not because we want to copy them, but because they help us understand what you’re drawn to.

Save things. Take photos. Screenshot things you love. Keep a Pinterest board. Tear pages out of magazines. Notice what catches your eye. You don’t need to know exactly what you want before starting a project. That’s part of the fun of the design process and exactly what we help you with!

Bring us your jumble of ideas and we’ll help turn them into something that makes sense for your space. 🧡

It all starts with a floorplan 📐

Before we get carried away with colours, fabrics, lighting and all the beautiful details, there’s one thing we always come back to: the floorplan.

A good floorplan is the foundation of a successful space. It’s where we work out how you’ll actually use the room, how people will move through it, where the furniture needs to go and what can be improved.

Often the biggest transformation isn’t about adding more — it’s about making better use of what you already have.

A wall moved here. A doorway repositioned there. A little more storage. A better connection between rooms.

Get the layout right, and everything else starts to fall into place.

Spaces that look good are great. Spaces that work beautifully are better.

Hello September 🍂

I honestly can't believe we are in month 9 already. I think September can feel like a bit of a reset so this is your nudge.....

The summer holidays are over, routines are returning and suddenly there’s a little more headspace to think about the things that have been put on hold.

And if you’ve spent the summer looking around your home thinking “we really need to sort this…” — perhaps September is the month to do something about it. 😉

Monday morning and, like most weeks, we’re both heading off in completely different directions…

While one of us is out on site, getting stuck into an exciting garage conversion project, the other is at the Hub catching up on all the very overdue admin. 😬

Finances and coding ✔️
Emails and general sorting of inbox(es)✔️
Project planning ✔️
Marketing… social media… bleugh 😅

It’s not always the glamorous side of running a design (and every other small) business, but there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep everything moving.

And actually, having the Highland Fox Hub as a place to sit down, focus and get through the jobs that have been hanging around is proving invaluable!

So, what’s on your to-do list this Monday? Are you tackling the exciting stuff, the boring stuff… or pretending the admin doesn’t exist? 😂

A long overdue hello 👋

All of a sudden, the summer holidays are over, the house is a little quieter and we’ve all got a bit more space to breathe! And, it seems, a few more followers!

Which feels like the perfect time for a long overdue hello from us. 👋

So, if you’re new here, hi! Thanks so much for joining us. And if you’ve been following along for a while, thanks for sticking with us. We’re looking forward to sharing a little more of what we’ve been working on over the next few weeks.
