I’ve heard it said that "people don’t send cards anymore…”

Well, last month we sold enough cards in August to pay our shop rent for over THREE MONTHS! 😳💌 So I think it’s safe to say… people definitely still send cards. There’s just something lovely about choosing the right card for someone. Whether it be funny, thoughtful, beautiful or sometimes just because. And we absolutely LOVE picking cards for the shop. 🥰

Just a wee note on reserving items — as a small business, we’re unfortunately not able to hold stock without payment. We’ve been caught out a few too many times with things being put aside and then not collected, and while we completely understand that plans change, it does mean we can miss a sale.

Look who’s back! 👀🐦✨

We know how much you loved these little guys! Last year we tried to get our hands on more and had absolutely no luck… so this year we’ve been organised (for once 😂) and got our order in early! These gorgeous little wire birds have tiny twinkling lights, are battery operated and, my favourite bit. They have a timer, so you can switch them on and forget about them. ✨

They make such a lovely gift too. Something a wee bit different, under £20, and nice and light if you need to pop one in the post. I can see these looking gorgeous in a cosy cottage, modern rustic home, country-style décor or just perched on a shelf amongst plants and favourite bits and pieces. And they're just as lovely switched off during the day.

A new week and it definitely feels like the seasons are starting to shift. There’s lots going on behind the scenes here at Crafty Wee Birdie, with new stock arriving, plans being made and plenty keeping us busy!

We get so many requests for raffle prizes from brilliant local groups and charities. As much as we’d genuinely love to support every single one, sadly as a wee independent business it’s just not possible. 💙

But this one has a special place in my heart, so we’ve donated a Crafty Wee Birdie voucher to the raffle for the Scotty Miller Memorial. 🥰

And what a day they’ve got planned! Rounders, fun run, kids’ games, BBQ, bouncy house and plenty of live music. 🎶

Today from 12.30pm at Riverside Park, then back to the RBLs afterwards.

Hope everyone has an absolutely brilliant day and lots of money is raised for local youth football. 💙⚽️
