French 19th century water pitcher, one of my favorite finds of my latest haul, with its large Iron band as a fantastic repair along with the white staining from the salts being drawn from the Terracotta by the sun, giving it a beautiful rustic look and charm.

Good morning, we are fully restocked and ready for a Busy Bank Holiday.
We have brought in some fabulous last minute additions to the shop including fresh French country pottey, vintage French canning jars in rich aqua and teal tones, and a selection of our handmade rustic pendent lights.

We are open all Bank holiday atright through untill Monday 10 am till 5pm

Free parking two cafes and a farm shop all on site make a great day out

Lunch time on a rainy day, but bringing a little Mediterranean vibe into the Dusty Gems shop with some beautiful fresh Mozzarella and some scrumptious Scrocchi baked crackers finished with a strong French coffee 👌
I'm using a couple of our Antique French chopping Boatds which are perfect for this type of simple lunch serving.

We are open all the Bank holiday 10am till 5pm drop in for a slow browse.

We are very excited with our latest Antique lighting project. With a formidable story

This is the ultimate working stiff of antique lighting this massive, standing at 69cm original early 19th century hanging candle lantern has just landed in the workshop.

It's journey from the historic grand halls of Brancepth Castle in country Durham to a Dusty shed for 70 years is why we do what we do.

Here it is in its raw before state , it's body caked in grime as found.

Give us a follow to see over the next few weeks its sympathetic restoration journey to give this rare piece of castle lighting a new life.

Fabulous piece of French country pottery from our latest haul of treasures.

A very early 19th century Cruche de tate translating to "head jug" or 'Dourne'. For carring water from the well back home on the person's head.

Very Southern French this one from the Languedoc - Tarn regions. Their unique shape and structure set them apart from standard French country pottery.

This one is totally unglazed to allow the water to seep through the very thin Tarracotta and evaporate, keeping the water cool.

Sunflowers in Dusty Gems shop 🌻💛 they work so well with both the green and the mustard glazed confit pots and Tians 💚

And of course they just say French country rustic.

We have a fantastic curated collection of French country pottery, with our signature 'working Stiff Collection' of pottery full of country character with repairs and staples

We are open all week from 10am to 5pm drop in and have a browse around the shop with the site having free parking, two cafes and a farmshop, we are a great family friendly destination.

Old rustic Elm benches

Some benches are just made to go under trees in the shade on hot summer days.

This reminds me of hot days in hot Dusty countries I spent so much time in, the old man or lady sitting on the bench as children ran around or sat by them , then latter as the day closed the smell of sage and spices,

And then a sky full of stars so bright and so many, you seemed trapped beneath them .

But that's another story for a another time

Fresh in to the Dusty Gems shop a fabulous early Hungarian 19th century box bench / bed, yep that's right the front slides out to form a very cute child's bed, as well as normal storage. The original rustic country green paint has a beautiful patina along with being worn and chipped from its years of use in the Farmhouse. A perfect piece of authentic rustic Farmhouse furniture for the hallway or kitchen
