Sometimes the best feedback has nothing to do with how a room looks.

This awkward home office was transformed into a calm, contemporary bedroom for a 15-year-old with clever storage, cool blues, wood tones and the main request - no moody teenage den.

Sloping ceilings and air conditioning made the layout a little trickier, but I LOVE how it came together.

The best bit though…?

His parents told me he’s sleeping better since his new room was finished.

I say this all the time, but good interior design isn’t just about making a room look beautiful. It’s about creating a space that feels good, functions well and actually works for the person living in it.

This was a completely remote eDesign project - I created the plan and the family brought it all to life.

I recently worked with a lovely couple who were renovating their family home. After months of planning, decision fatigue had started to creep in. When designing a home office, people automatically think about the desk. Don’t get me wrong, I love a hero piece, but a great design isn’t created by choosing one perfect item - it’s about how every element works together.

In this concept, colour, texture and storage all play their part.

The warm neutral walls and ceiling act as a classic base and the rich taupe tones bring depth and contrast. Using this on the woodwork and joinery creates a space that feels sophisticated without being overwhelming.

Layering soft fabrics, natural linens and warm wood with a touch of bronze balances the darker colour, making the room feel comfortable enough to spend hours in.

And then there’s the storage.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is treating storage as an afterthought. A well-designed workspace should hide the everyday clutter while keeping everything you need within easy reach. When your space is organised, it’s easier to focus, think creatively and enjoy being there.

Good design isn’t just about making a room look beautiful - it’s about creating a space that supports the way you live and work.

72 hours in Puerto Pollensa and I’m in love 💕☀️

I’d like to say I’m well rested but 20,000 steps a day and early starts (and possibly the delicious €3 wine from the market) mean I’m not so much (and I’d do it all again!) but I’m excited to get back to business and working on your gorgeous projects!
