After more than 45 years of trading, we have made the difficult decision to close Vivian & Holt.
Our showroom first opened in 1980, and Damion has been part of the business for the last 31 years, so this is a big decision for us and certainly not one we have made lightly.
Over those years, we’ve had the privilege of designing and installing kitchens and interiors in thousands of homes across the New Forest, Christchurch, Lymington and beyond. Many customers have returned to us more than once, recommended us to their friends and families, and in some cases we’ve gone on to design kitchens for the next generation of the same family. That has always meant a great deal to us.
The kitchen industry and the high street have changed enormously since those early days and, after a lot of thought, we feel now is the right time to bring Vivian & Holt to a close and begin the next chapter of our lives.
We are incredibly proud of what the business has achieved and particularly proud that, throughout its history, Vivian & Holt has remained an independent local business.
Most importantly, we want to say a huge thank you.
Thank you to every customer who trusted us with their home, every supplier who supported us, and all the staff and tradespeople who have been part of Vivian & Holt over the years. There are far too many people to name individually, but every one of you has played a part in our story.
And while Vivian & Holt is coming to an end, the Vivian name will continue.
We’re extremely proud that our sons, Lloyd and Max, will be continuing with their own business, Vivian Installations. As well as kitchen installation, they undertake all kinds of home renovation and improvement work. Many of our customers will already know them from the work they have carried out for Vivian & Holt over the years, and they’ll continue independently with the same standards, workmanship and attention to detail that have always been so important to us.
We will, of course, honour all our existing commitments and make sure everything currently underway is completed as it should be.
Closing the showroom for the final time after it first opened its doors in 1980 will undoubtedly be emotional. But we can look back with an enormous amount of pride, not just at the kitchens we have created, but at the people we have met, the friendships we have made and the support this local community has shown us for more than four decades.
To everyone who has been part of the Vivian & Holt journey over the last 45+ years, thank you. We genuinely couldn’t have done it without you.
Damion & Sam
