A Fresh Entrance for a 1960s Dorma Bungalow!

This entrance started life as a cold, characterless 1960s dorma bungalow hallway ….narrow, flat, and offering nothing of the warmth the client wanted. He has a real love for his cloakwear and asked for something that felt refined, classic, and worthy of a proper arrival space.

We kept the footprint simple and focused on atmosphere. The hall was colour‑drenched from walls to ceiling to create depth and intimacy, and a clean C‑coving was added to give the room another layer without overwhelming it. Taller skirting boards instantly lifted the proportions, and glass doors were introduced to pull natural light through the occasional rooms.

The oak engineered floor from Gem Flooring was the perfect finishing touch, warm, timeless, and exactly what the space needed to feel grounded.

It wasn’t the smoothest start, but everyone involved pulled together and delivered something we’re genuinely proud of.
