Our centre fold invitations are always a popular choice. You can choose to add a belly band and a tassel to enhance the look or keep it simple. This example shows textured card, we can also produce these on plain card and a number of other finishes.

This post makes me sad.

I have been reflecting on the years gone by and to the days where I would ALMOST complain that I was too busy with several invitations needing to be complete on an evening after a day of Interiors.

As you may tell from my grid, I haven’t posted in a while, and that is simply because everything has went super quiet on the stationery front and through no fault of mine. I simply have zero organic engagement on here and Facebook anymore. Even paying for ads seems to gain no momentum.

There was a time where small businesses like mine would thrive through platforms like this but now it seems like we are only being punished with algorithms and high advertising prices, how dare we naturally gain followers and clients?!

Also, as times change and things move on, understandably, so does business’ like this. A lot of people are creating their own invitations via ‘Canva’ or simply having a digital invitation. Again, cost wise this may be someone’s only option which I completely get, Weddings are super expensive. I still just adore holding and opening one of my finished invites and the. receiving such lovely feedback from my clients.

I work extremely hard to create bespoke and hand crafted stationery for my clients (the same as soo many others do out there) and it is such a shame it has come to this. It generally was something I truly enjoyed doing and I know that my prices are super competitive if not very underpriced.

I will keep this page going for referral’s or the odd chance that someone stumbles across it, but I thought I would explain where I am at with this wild forever changing world…

Our pocketfold invitations are extremely popular, these are a client favourite as you can pop all your information on one piece of card.

These invitations come with an A6 postcard RSVP slip and a belly band. If you want your invitations to be a little more WOW then why not add a tassel!?

New Branding ⚫️⚫️

I have been playing around for a while now with ways on which I can simplify our branding without losing its strength.

Whilst I liked having House of Hönnun in whole, it almost became too wordy and lost when in smaller format’s. Therefore using the acronym and adding the umlaut from the Icelandic abbreviation of Design over the O still creates a sense of interest and identity.

I have also updated our website and other socials such as LinkedIn. Why not take a look…

A personal post this morning…

As some of you may know, our daughter is fully tube fed via a gastrosotmy button (also known as PEG fed)

Now, for the second time this month, Maeva’s gastrostomy balloon punctured/deflated. (This is what keeps Maeva’s Gastrostomy in place and if it falls out, the hole in her tummy can begin to close up within 2 hours).

Luckily, again, it hadn’t actually fallen out. This time I have replaced it with the Mic-key button as the mini is no longer to be used going forward.

Just another hectic/stressful morning before the blend/breakfast lunch and tea prep, nursery run & work yesterday (It also always seems to happen when I am alone, typical!).

Yet, I still turn up, join the calls, smiling as usual. This is a prime example that you never know exactly what a person is going through personally.

It is very importantly for me to always show up being self employed. So please, always be kind. 🙌🏻🤍
