Keeping the Glare Grounded at Newcastle International Airport ✈️

We’ve recently completed the installation of 48 cassette roller blinds for the administrative offices at Newcastle International Airport - a project that brought both technical challenges and a decent workout for the team!

With the offices featuring sloping windows, we installed cassette roller blinds with zip-retained fabric to ensure each blind stays securely in place within the frame. The result is a neat, reliable shading solution ideal for a busy environment.

And while the blinds now help keep things cool, our installation team certainly warmed up… carrying all 48 blinds up six flights of stairs. Safe to say they got their steps in!

Great work all round and a pleasure to support improvements at one of the region’s key transport hubs.

🌟 August Reflections - 4 Student Accommodation Blocks, Newcastle University 🌟

One of the key projects for us this summer was the refurbishment of 313+ student accommodation bedrooms, where our team installed over 580 blinds and curtains within just 3–4 weeks. With such a tight programme, teamwork and precision were key:

✔️ Coordinating closely with the main contractor and other trades
✔️ Managing production and logistics to the day
✔️ Delivering every installation on time and to a high standard

We were delighted to be appointed directly by Newcastle University to carry out additional works in a fourth accommodation block, installing a further 90 blinds. This direct award was a great recognition of our reliability and workmanship.

Tyne Blinds are a family run window covering specialist based in Cramlington, seeking a full time blind surveyor/installer to join our growing team.

Working closely with our project manager’s and clients, you will be responsible for surveying and installing commercial and residential treatments according to client specifications. Experience is preferred although not essential as full training will be provided. Driving license required.

Tyne Blinds are a blind and curtain manufacturer based in Cramlington and have a position available in our manufacturing team (with working from home opportunities).

We are looking to grow our team with a full or part time flat-bed machinist who has experience with lined and unlined curtains for our commercial projects.

The role is based from our factory or at home if applicant has an industrial sewing machine and is able to collect the necessary work.
