A very happy few days was spent in the London campus learning the ancient art of 12th century Japanese marbling called Suminagashi where we started each day with a gentle meditation. Black and white the first day and a second day of colourful joy. Here are some of the results which may or may not lead to some new designs. Watch this space!

For those of you who have just started following us, here is our team at - just myself, Susi, founder and designer (on the right!) and Lauren, who runs the office and is core to the business with her multitude of skills ranging from web management, production and marketing - just to name a few. Lauren joined me after an internship from her fashion and marketing course Northumbria University and impressed me so much that I offered her a job when she graduated. Lauren is working on her own brilliant renovation on her house near the coast here in Northumberland. You can see what she has been up to Lee and Lauren | Home Renovation - where evidence of her skill set just expands even further! We are also are lucky enough to have the help who works on design for us and helps bring my designs to fruition. That’s just the studio team and then we work with talented sewers and makers who help bring the designs to life. We’ll be taking you behind the scenes soon to find out more about our process..

We’ve been lucky enough to work with the incredible luxury lighting and furniture artisans Porta Romana a couple of times now. For both our two House Guest stands in 2023 and 2026 and also for their window and display at their showroom
Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour - Luxury Interiors which is always a wonderful sight and beautifully curated. For a small independent British brand, as ourselves, it is truly an honour to be considered for such collaborations and we love seeing which of our fabrics (and wallpapers) they choose for their own styling purposes. Which one is your favourite?

We are really feeling the love for this colourful Harlem duplex designed by our favourite New York designer Rayman Boozer Rayman Boozer/Apt48 which was featured recently ELLE Decor and currently features Designer Home Tours YouTube in all its glory. Rayman talks through his own design journey and his love of colour and how he mix and matches pattern in such a unique and joyous way. We were lucky enough to have our Beige Ripple linen used for the curtains in the sunny living space, our Duck Egg Bouquet velvet in the master bedroom and Pietra Blu wallpaper used behind the bookcases. Scroll through to see all of the rooms mentioned. What an honour to be one of Rayman’s favourite British designers. We adore working with them and are always excited to see what they come up with next. He really is a design visionary 🎨

I have huge respect for all of the hard working and talented interior designers I have had the pleasure to work with. In particular is Pandora Taylor Interiors who collaborated with me on our jewel box of a flat in Bayswater in London to turn it from boring and beige to something rather special. The bones of the lovely large living room were updated with panelling and Green Blue paint Farrow & Ball which is probably my favourite paint colour ever. The statement sofa in our Blue Rose marbled velvet made George Smith | exceptional upholstered furniture & fabrics is super comfortable and and so beautifully made as is our Christopher Farr rug in our own veneer pattern. The much smaller bedroom zone at the back of the flat needed some careful consideration but the box bed solution has been a triumph. We carpeted all of the room spaces Alternative Flooring to make it cosy and be good neighbours! But it is the Howdens galley kitchen linking the two spaces which has received the most love on Instagram with almost 100k views and it’s pretty in pink finish in Light Peachblossom Little Greene and tumble tiles STAREL stones

Cushion Crush 🤎 It’s that time of the year for us when we look at our collection and make piles of what’s staying and what’s going! We’ve been busy behind the scenes with our new designs but this pile is a keeper. Our ruched veneer designs in different sizes almost act as plains for us and we can’t resist some passementerie (fancy term for ruching and trim) to help add some glamour to our sofas.

We love bringing old pieces to life and discovering vintage finds that just need some love! This pretty chair was discovered and we brought it back to life with our Blue Rose marbled velvet. These pretty floral designs are chintz based and overlaid with our signature marbling. It only took a couple of metres, if that, to upholster this piece. What you could you up cycle at home or discover this weekend? Watch out for the next big thing as the plans their Chintz exhibition next Autumn…

A few years ago we made some gingham cotton fabric overlaid with marbling and some ruffled cushions. These designs certainly have a lovely summery vibe and we’ve popped the fabric in our summer sale. Our July sale finishes at the end of the month so well worth checking out while stocks last. Who doesn’t love a bargain?!
