It's been a year since I did my first art and craft fair. I've done 9 more with 5 different organisers since then. My display skills have improved massively! But funnily enough it was this first one with my tiny table and flat-looking display that I sold the most at, by quite some margin. It was what encouraged me to give it a full year of doing fairs.

Over the year I made a small profit. Two fairs I didn't sell a single thing. But footfall was pretty bad at both and that is completely out of my control so I didn't take it personally. I also met some lovely people, fellow traders and members of the public. At all bar one of the fairs I did have people sign up to my mailing list and also had quite a few book in for a workshop so doing the fairs has definitely helped me with visibility.

On that basis I'm going to continue doing them, at least for another year. Perhaps not so many. And I'll choose which ones I do more carefully rather than applying to any fair that will have me!

On that note I'm going to be at on Feb 8th at Newcastle . Maybe I will see you there!
