By working with the home’s existing architecture—its proportions, mouldings, and sense of scale—the built-in feels considered rather than imposed.

Painted in a soft, muted tone, it combines open shelving with generous lower cupboards, creating a place for books, art, and everyday storage without compromising the room’s character. Simply panelled doors, discreet brass k***s, and carefully proportioned shelving give the joinery a tailored, architectural quality. This project started with a simple idea: hide a door in plain sight. What followed was a deep dive into design, precision engineering, and some trial and error. From sketching concepts and hardware selection, every detail mattered because a hidden door only works if no one notices it’s there.

Balancing function and illusion. Seamless panel alignment, concealed hinges, and a mechanism smooth enough to feel effortless but strong enough to last.

Seeing it come together was one of those moments that reminds us why we love what we do — turning imagination into something real (and just a little mysterious).

The use of our traditional, framed and hand painted cabinets in neutral tones sit in the space beautifully. Armac Martin hardware, quartz composite countertops and high end appliances make this a forever kitchen ✨
