ebell Love started in 2015 with a simple block print and a love for lavender. What began as hand-carved lino blocks and small batches of lavender bags quickly grew into a full collection of handmade accessories and embroidery kits. My first design—a charming mix of bees and flowers—paved the way for a brand that celebrates playful colours, whimsical patterns, and the joy of handmade craftsmanship. From Block to Digital
Over the years, my craft has evolved. I still cherish the hands-on process of block and screen printing, but I’ve also embraced the world of digital design. This blend of old and new allows me to experiment with vibrant colour palettes and intricate details, creating unique fabrics that are a joy to work with. In 2024, I introduced my first digitally printed fabrics, combining the ease and precision of modern printing with my love for creative design. Embroidery with a Twist
Embroidery has always been close to my heart. Starting with cross-stitch (though I admit, I wasn’t a fan of the counting!), I soon fell in love with the freedom and creativity that embroidery offers. My prints are perfect for bringing to life with thread, and I’m thrilled to offer a range of embroidery kits and starter sets for both seasoned stitchers and beginners alike. Just a quick one to say… we’re taking a little break! 😄 It’s time for me and Bessie to have a week of getting out and about 😊

We’re actually going to be spending some of the time exploring lovely Pembrokeshire - I can’t wait! 😍 I know it’s a beautiful area😊

Everything will stay open as usual, but I now won’t be posting out any goodies until I’m back in the studio on the 7th September ☀

New Lavender Bag designs are coooming! Shrooms aaand oystercatchers 😄🍄
The shrooms fit in perfectly with the rest of my Autumn Woodland collection, buuutt… the oystercatchers are brand brand new! 😍

I made a start on drawing these a few weeks ago, but I’ve already received the first fabric samples, made a few tweaks… and now I have the first ‘proper’ versions! 🪡😄

I’m taking a little break from the studio next week, but I can not wait to sew the first of these when I’m back! 😄🥰

Gull stitching update 🪡 Long waffle short… I’m thinking of starting another panel and having two on the go 😄🪡

Over the last week I’ve really got back into stitching this one, and now I’ve finished the headland and the rocks 😊 Oh, I really love how my little lighthouse has turned out – super cute back there! 😍

But…

Last night I was all excited to make a start on the sea. I’ve known for ages how I was going to stitch it, but I did a little tester on some scrap fabric first… and I don’t like what I had in mind! 😅

I played around with a few other ideas too, but I’m just not feeling any of them yet 🙈

It’s a little frustrating because I’ve just got back into stitching this one after a bit of a break, and I’ve been loving it 🥰 But I’ve decided I really don’t want to force the sea just because I want to make progress 😊

So… I’m thinking I might start my next panel instead! 🪡😄

I don’t usually like having more than one of these on the go at a time – I like to finish one, put all those bobbins away, write the blog, file the million pics I took… and then start the next one afresh 😊

I can keep having little plays with the sea when inspiration strikes, without letting it be the thing that stops me stitching altogether 😄

So, I’m going to have another little play with it this evening… and sea what happens 😏🪡

And if my gull ends up being a much longer stitch… that’s all o k 😊

Theres only a couple of weeks until we’re in to the ‘ber’ months! 😅🍂
I’ve already started using my Autumn Woodland thread catcher basket though 🤭 My Puffin one has worked its way over to the studio, and so my Woodland one is happily on the arm of the sofa for my evening stitching sessions 😄

The Pointless Sampler!... although it really does have a point to it 🤭

I’ve finished stitching it – what do you think? 11 different stitches in 6 different amounts of strands… there are 3 sections of French Knots if you’re questioning my counting there 😅 Just look how iddy biddy those 1-strand 1-wrap French Knots are! 😍

This is super useful for not only learning and practising stitches, but also for seeing how they turn out in different thicknesses 😊 I’ve been finding version 1 of this wheel (that version didn’t quite make it into the world 😅) suuuper handy for helping me decide how many strands to use when I’m stitching my panels – and seeing as this version is much better than that one… I know I’m going to be referring to his hoop a lot from now on 😄

It’s going to be available as ‘Just the Panel’, with a little stitch guide book explaining what to stitch where (that I need to crack on with putting together 😅). Touch wood, the first of these will be able to come along to the The Creative Craft Show with me in September, but I’ll keep you updated with any online launch plans 😄

Oh, and I left the design lines unstitched so I can easily see how raised to each stitch is from the fabric – but you could, of course, stitch them 😊 I thought doing the lines in grey would work with any thread colour palette you choose… but maaaybe I’ll do another colour option too 🤔

Something else I’ve been working on over here is this 😄🪡 It’s a wheel with a different stitch in each section - like a sampler - but each ring is stitched with a different number of strands 🪡 6 strands on the outside, working down to 1 strand in the middle 😊

I actually started this aaages ago - around the same time that I refreshed my embroidery panels (coming up 2 years ago! 😅). But for one reason and another, I abandoned it and didn’t take it any further 🙈

But the sample I stitched that first time has actually been really handy for helping me decide how many strands to use when I’m stitching my panels. So I’ve come back to it! 😄

I’ve made a few tweaks to the original and added some more stitching guide lines onto the design - and this is where I am with the stitching now 😅 I’ve just started on the 2-strand ring 😊

So my plan for this one is… first, to finish stitching it! 😅 There’ll probably be a tiny bit more tweaking to do too, but then I’m going to release it as a ‘Just the Panel’ 😄 Although there’ll be a bit more to it than the other ‘Just the Panels’, because you’ll need to know what to stitch where - so this one will come with a little instruction book too 😊🪡

And as for the name…

‘The Pointless Sampler’? 😆 But it’s definitely not pointless! 😆

I'm running a 'make & take'! 🪡...and this is the little stitching design! 😄 It's cute, right? 🥰

This is going to be happening on my stand at the The Creative Craft Show (Exeter Westpoint, 24th–26th September) - I'll share all the details a bit closer to the time 😊

But basically... if you're coming along to the show, there’ll be a table on my stand where you’ll be able to sit and stitch this hoop 🥰 It'll be really casual - just pop by whenever you fancy, stay and stitch for as long as you like, then take your little kit home to finish 🪡

And if you're not coming to the show... I'm thiiinking this design might become a little mini embroidery kit afterwards 🤔

It's only about a 2–3 hour stitch (depending on how slow you slow stitch 😄), and sometimes a nice little project that can be finished relatively quickly in between bigger projects is just the thing that’s needed 😀🪡

Nothing's set in stone just yet... but I am pretty excited by the mini kit idea 😊 Just imagine a whole little series of mini kits! 😍🪡

Well... that was an amazing day! 🥰 Not my first time visiting the incredible Festival of Quilts , but it was my very first time taking part in Sarah Ashford Studio's fabric stamp swap... and phew-ee, that was something else! 😄🪡

I think I arrived at the scheduled stamp swap bang on time, but there was already a crowd of stitching lovelies swapping their stamps. Looking back it's quite funny, but being the awkward little thing that I am, I wasn't really sure how to 'get in there' and start swapping 😆 I kind of just stood on the edge holding my little puffins on my folder looking a bit sheepish 🤭

But it really didn't take long before the "Ooo, puffins!" were heard... and then it's all a bit of a stamp-swapping blur! 😆 Honestly, I can't even describe the joy of swapping these little stamps and I'm over the moon to have swapped all 20 with such lovely fellow stitchers 🥰 (That cute little dino was my very first swap! 🦕🥹)

So, as promised... here are my swaps! 😄 I've tagged as many people as I could. A few don't have accounts on here, and sadly I've got about five stamps with no names on them 🙈 I really wish I'd written names (and maybe where everyone was from) on the back. Lesson for next time! 😄

Thank you so much if you swapped with me - it was so lovely to meet you! 😊 I just need to organise myself a cute little folder or something to keep my new treasured stamps safe now 🥰

I've finished my fabric stamps! 😄 My what?! 😆
Hehe... I know, that's exactly what I thought when I first heard about this too 😄 Let me explain...

These are for a fun fabric stamp swap organised by Sarah Ashford Studio at the The Festival of Quilts (this week! Eee... I 👏 am 👏 so 👏 excited! 🤩). You make cute handmade fabric stamps, then pop along to a scheduled stamp swap and... swap them! 😍 What a fun way to meet new stitchy people! 🥰

They're super easy to make (pop over to Sarah for all the details 😊), and you can use fabric you already have in your stash... buuuttt... me being me, I had to draw my own little fabrics, didn't I? 😄

So I've been having loads of fun drawing these colourful wavy backgrounds for my puffins and turning them into little stamps ready for the festival 🥰🪡

The stamp swap is happening every day this year, but I'm only visiting on Thursday - so my stamp swap location is the Aurifil Thread stand (H41) at 1.30pm. Let me know if you're going to be there too! 😄

Gosh, as if the festival wasn’t exciting enough already! This has taken it to a whole new level 😄 Although, being a stamp swap newbie, I’ve no idea what to expect! 🤭

I've made 20 stamps (14 in different colours plus a few repeats)... is that enough? Too many? I have absolutely no idea! 😆

I guess we'll find out! 😄 I’ll fill you in after the festival and show you all the lovely stamps I swap for 🥰🪡

It was a bit of a quieter one for me today - but still lots of lovely chats, hellos and stitchy catch-ups 🪡

But that's it now for my summer events! 😄 I don't have another in-person event until the Creative Craft show in September (which I know is still a couple of months away... but I really do need to pull my finger out with planning for that one 😄🍂).
