A little reshuffle, but a big difference.

I've finally rejigged the studio spaces and I honestly love them so much more. The Kallex is gone, everything is visible and accessible, and I've finally got my gallery wall — something I envisaged when I first got the space.

It feels brighter, more open and, most importantly, so much more me.

Sometimes you just need to move things around, let go of what isn't working and give a space room to become what you always imagined it could be.

There's still plenty to do, but this feels like a step in the right direction, and I'm really happy with how it's coming together.

Here's to making spaces that inspire us to create.

I honestly can’t quite believe I’m writing this, but The Little Art Shed Studio is a finalist for Start Up of the Year at the Devon Women in Business Awards!

Opening the studio earlier this year was a huge step for me, and if I’m honest, building something from scratch isn’t always easy. There are plenty of moments of doubt, lots of learning curves and days when you wonder if you’re getting it right.

But I started The Little Art Shed because I wanted to create a space where people could come together, get creative and enjoy art without worrying about being good at it. Seeing people come through the doors and make that space their own has made it all worthwhile.

To have something I’ve worked so hard on recognised like this feels really special, and I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way.

Congratulations to all the other finalists. I’m really proud to be included and excited to see what comes next for The Little Art Shed Studio.

Our next set of finalists are for Start Up of the Year sponsored by Fran Minifie Photography who is also our Dinner photographer this year.

Congratulations to everyone that made the short list below.

I honestly can’t believe it!

From opening the doors of The Little Art Shed Studio in February this year to becoming a FINALIST for New Business of the Year in not one, but TWO awards!

This time it’s the Devon Women in Business Awards!

When I opened the studio, I had a dream of creating a space where people could come together, get creative and discover the joy of art. To be recognised like this, so early in my journey, is genuinely overwhelming. I’m not sure I’ve quite processed it yet!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me, booked a class, shared a post, recommended the studio, or simply believed in what I’m trying to build. You’re all part of this journey, and I couldn’t do it without you.

A massive congratulations to all the other finalists! And honestly, a huge well done to everyone who put themselves out there and showcased their business. Running a business in today’s climate isn’t easy, and it takes courage, passion and a whole lot of hard work. Every single one of you deserves to celebrate what you’re building.

Here’s to chasing dreams, taking chances and seeing where they lead!

The Little Art Shed Studio — and this is only the beginning!

Today is BACK TO CLASS!

Week 1nof Art Explorers we looked at Cave art... The when, the how and the Why. We looked at possible techniques discussed how their paints were made and preserved and we told our own stories!

I was so proud of all the kids! They were all so engrossed in what they were doing and came up with amazing stories and their interpretations in art were on point .... Or Slayed as one of the kids said

Our final week of challenges.. we Did a collage but they had to represent YOU! I loved how immersed the children got, the laughter that was had over funny images, the suggestions if they found a useful image for each other.... Creativity and friendship really shone in this session and it was amazing to see and be part of. It's been a privilege this term to see the kids shine!

🎨 The countdown is on... just a few days to go until our Home Education Art Exhibition! 🎨

Join us on Friday 17th July for a wonderful evening celebrating the incredible creativity of our home-educated young artists.

✨ The exhibition will be officially opened by the Mayor with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30pm, so if you'd like to watch, please arrive a few minutes early.

Entry is completely FREE, and you don't need to have taken part in the exhibition to come along! We'd love to welcome the whole community, so please bring grandparents, family, friends and neighbours. Come and support the children, admire their amazing artwork and enjoy a lovely evening together.

🎨 There will also be colouring activities, a community canvas and an Art Swap Card station for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're 5 or 95, we'd love you to get involved and leave your own creative mark!

🌿 Weather permitting, we'll have tables and chairs set up outside so children can play while adults relax and chat.

🚗 Parking: There are around 7 parking spaces at the Scout Hall. If you're able to, please park in Highweek Village or on Mile End Road and enjoy the short walk, leaving the on-site spaces available for disabled visitors and those with limited mobility.

📍The Scout Hall entrance is off Howton Road (it looks like a dirt track, but it is the correct entrance).

📍What3Words: dupe.between.muted

🌭 To help cover the costs of putting on the exhibition, we'll be selling refreshments, hot dogs, cakes and ice lollies throughout the evening.

💷 If you're able to, cash is preferred, as it helps us avoid card processing fees, meaning more of the money goes towards covering the exhibition costs.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post and inviting your friends and family. The more people who come along to support our young artists, the more special the evening will be for them.

We can't wait to welcome you all on Friday 17th July. See you there! 🎨💛
