After an hour picking box tree caterpillars off my little hedge 🐛😡🍃
I needed cheering up & cooling down.

So off I skipped to do some sewing.
Mended my pinafore & my pyjamas and then dived in & sewed my VERY FIRST placket!
I am thrilled. Hope my friend (the owner of the dress) is too!
It was quite stressful cutting into a brand new Gudrun dress. But so satisfying now it’s finished.
That’s my creativity for today.

Off to water my pots now 🪴🪴🪴

Did you know that it’s Creativity & Wellbeing Week here in Norfolk?!?

The County Council has a big range of activities & classes going on (just have a rummage on their website or social media pages).

After a very busy weekend in Londontown for a family wedding, I’m staying home but making a conscious effort to do something mindful & creative every day this week.

Monday wasn’t a great start because I fell asleep on the train home, but I guess that was looking after my wellbeing!

Today my creative activity was tidying up my little cottage garden. Nothing too exhausting, just a little weeding & trimming. The garden & I did each other the world of good!

Looking forward to tomorrow’s creativity.

Hurry up! Last few slices of Victoria Sponge left!

And I’ve started sewing dog beds/blankets/settle mats out of my stash of pre-loved fabric 🐾

These two are recycled padding & gorgeous pure wool fabric.
Fully washable in a wool cycle.
Both have handles for carrying to the car & for when you’re taking your dog out visiting.
£20, £25 & £30 depending on size & fabric.

I snapped a little video as the sun was setting in my little kitchen garden.
The birdsong & the inquisitive bee are a delight.
But enough of all that..

Lucy was trying out her veg making (she is already a dab hand at veg growing) and at present they are just £5 each (and £5 for 2 mini mushrooms).

Just look at this gorgeousness.

Toni of has brought colour to the yard at Tucked Away.
Based on the vintage barn quilts of America, Toni deconstructs old pallets & hand paints these beautiful hearts & ‘quilts’. They are truly amazing and can be used to decorate your home or garden as they are painted in weatherproof outdoor paints.

I am so excited to have them brightening the yard for our first tearoom of the year.

Sat & Sun 2nd & 3rd May, 10-4.

It's always exciting when I find new crafters to join us at Tucked Away.

Especially when they live just down the road in Stalham, make their very own paper & decorate some of it with local Norfolk seaweed.
So please welcome Amanda of IG PressedForAllTime !

Little books for journalling, paper for crafting & letter writing, as well as seaweed images for framing.

We're open this weekend.
And fingers crossed we'll have our first regular tea & cake event. This time raising money for The Teenage Cancer Trust.

And I don't know why, but I felt that homemade paper needed some country fiddling! Enjoy

Today we went down this magical footpath.
To find this old flint church.
The sun shone gloriously through the windows.
We had reached this most wonderful exhibition.
What a special backdrop for such special work.

Do try to get there if you can. You won't regret it.
The details are on the 11th photo.

The ceramic & driftwood work, as well as the framed photographs, are by Coral Blackburn of & her friend & fellow exhibitor is fibre artist friend Diana Mullis.

We are SO lucky to live in Norfolk.
We drove along the coast road to reach Salthouse.
Flint cottages, vintage steam trains & the sea in the distance.

And guess what? exhibits here at Tucked Away!

Then we’re having a Sale in February.

While March is hibernation month, ready for our grand re-opening in April.
(NB 2nd weekend in April, as the first weekend is Easter.)
