We found this swarm in the field after checking on some bees. Found the queen stuck in the grass at the very end and her wings were all torn up so she was unable to fly. I was meant to check the bees on Friday, but went to remove some from a property and luckily left it till Sunday. It was fate, because I wouldn't have gone otherwise and this swarm would have died now that the weather has turned and they would have stayed loyal to their queen and stayed with her.
If you zoom in on the photo of the queen you can see her wing damage. They are in a hive now, safe and dry 🐝🥰 Jorgie was my little helper, and an amazing help she was.

So here's the story from A to Z, if you wanna get with me (Eco-Buzz ) you gotta listen (read) carefully.... (Yup, that's the Spice Girl in me).

A couple of years ago, myself (Jenny) and Tats (Sam), really wanted some beeswax wraps, that we didn't want to pay a small fortune for.... So off I go and source some local beeswax and other ingredients. Then I thought 💭🤔 oh, I might make some moisturiser, my hands get so dry with doing the horses and being outside alot...

Then we thought 💭🤔 hang on, these would be great little Christmas presents. Approximately 2 days later, we had Danny on board and BOOM 💥🤯 Just like the big bang, Eco-Buzz was born.

Please take a moment to follow us and invite others. We started so small. We now host a successful stall with wonderful products at local craft fairs, we are happy to post orders. We have amazing regular and new customers and receive fantastic feedback from out moisturising balms.

So today we both did today's inspection 🕵🏻‍♀️
Thank god!
Upon inspecting Sky Hive (they grey one) we'd seen some queen cups. Not a problem, but... There was a charged queen cell! What does this mean you might ask. Well they're deciding to swarm.
So after a bit of shuffling, we effectively did a walk away split. This means that we put the original 👑 into a new (unnamed) hive. Leaving Sky Hive with the charged cell and awaiting the emersion of the new 👑. So now we've got a new colony. Since it's a split from Sky Hive, what should we call it?
Suggestions so far are Cloud or Space Hive. 🤣

Today I went to see if I could quickly pull some honey off the hives, as Bex hive had swarmed, they had A lot of space so I reduced them down and used the opportunity to harvest some wax. While me and Joie were scraping the bars we found these 2 queen cells and the queens emerged right then. I wasn't fully geared up with all my tools so had to rake through the car to use something as a queen cage. Unfortunately just having my hands full today I was going to struggle to set up some nucs and make new colonies but I rang farmer John who was happy to take them, and give them a new bee family 🐝🤩❤️
