From upholstery workshop to finished space.

A closer look at the detail behind this transformation at Anupam.

The bespoke booth seating features a sewn fluted back, upholstered in Panaz Opera – Paprika, paired with a contrasting Pewter seat for a refined, contemporary finish.

The booths were designed to sit back-to-back. This meant the backs could remain unfinished, while the exposed outer backs were finished with cladded boards to create a clean, cohesive look within the space.

Finished with matching piping, a painted kickboard cap and cladding in Blackthorn Chalky Matt Paint, every element was carefully considered to work with the wider interior scheme.

From the upholstery workshop to the finished space, it’s a great example of how bespoke design can be tailored to the practical requirements of a project.

Nine years is a fantastic achievement and a real reflection of Hannah’s dedication, commitment and passion for what she does. We’re incredibly proud to have team members who grow with us and become such an important part of the Hill Cross family.

At Overgate Hospice, we worked closely with interior designer, Elaine Lewis, on the new 16-bedroom Inpatient Unit, supplying loose furniture and designing bespoke modular seating around the needs of the space.

Patients and families also joined nurses, physios, OTs and other hospice teams in testing proposed furniture and helping shape the final specification.

It’s a great example of how our growing hospice expertise, collaborative approach and in-house design support come together.

What you don’t see matters too.

A finished banquette might look simple. Behind the scenes, there’s a lot more thought that goes into how it’s built.

For this bespoke seating project, the outer backs have deliberately been left unfinished where the units will sit against a wall or back-to-back. Why upholster a surface that will never be seen?

Instead, the upholstery is focused where it matters - creating beautifully finished deep-buttoned backs and plain bumpered seats in a rich dark teal leather, while keeping the specification more cost-effective.

The final detail comes during installation, with a veneer kickboard added on site to neatly finish the base and bring the whole design together.
