Glass by Sally and Margaret Hand made glass After 36 Years of working in an office I decided it was time to try something new. Each piece is unique and we loved making each and every one.

I’ve always been creative and wanted to do something that would combine creativity with my need to challenge myself technically. Glass is perfect, there are so many things to make, different techniques to learn and develop it could never get boring. This page contains glass made by me (Sally) and my mum (Margaret). Our glass is very precious to us I am not keen to send larger items in the

I can’t wait for the launch of this years Northants & Rutland Open Studios on Friday evening. If you’re planning to visit the Central Exhibition at Lamport Hall this weekend please pop into the Brewers Yard studios where, for one weekend only, you will be able to see a much wider range of my work. I am sharing the space with the fabulous Samantha Brockway, Katy Dynes and Alyssa Robinson so there is plenty to see.

Second piece finished for the Northants & Rutland Open Studios Central Exhibition Lamport Hall. Had a bit of a heart stopping moment when the stainless steel former got stuck inside but a bit of gentle coaxing got it out eventually 😅.

Can’t wait for this years Northants & Rutland Open Studios and I’m really enjoying coming up with new designs for my exhibitions. My kilns are really not liking this heat though, I find it amazing (and more than a bit frustrating that they can go up to 900 degrees C inside but have a hissy fit and turn off if it gets to the mid 30s in the studio!

I’m having a fabulous day Northampton Museum & Art Gallery. I’ve met lots of lovely people and sold really well. I’ve sent lots of people into the museums selling gallery to see some of my bigger pieces and I’m really chuffed to say I have sold my large bowl. As usual I forgot to take a picture of the bowl with it’s lovely new owner (I’m so rubbish at this social media business😳) but I’ve attached a picture of it on it’s own 🙂.

I’ve just completed my first two ‘new format’ workshops at lamport_hall where participants can choose what they make. They were both great fun (although everyone on the 3 hour workshop chose to make a Holey Moley bowl! 🤣.
My next 3 hour workshop is on Sunday 19th July and it coincides with the Quilting and Sewing Show at Lamport so you should have time to look around the show too.
All workshops are bookable on the Lamport Hall website.

All of these beautiful pieces were made on my workshops. I still have room on my Flowers workshop at Lamport Hall on Thursday 21st May so if you’re free why not give it a go.
People often say they find it hard to be Mindful but find they can naturally block the world out when concentrating on creating a beautiful piece of glass. My workshops are alway relaxing and fun.

What a fantastic weekend at Lamport Hall. Thank you to all of my customers and to everyone who came in for a chat. As usual no one got past me without one of my leaflets being thrust at them and I’ve been blown away by the enthusiasm for my workshops at lamport_hall. I look forward to seeing many of you on a workshop soon.

I had a great pitch this weekend which was three times bigger than usual for me, great for displaying my glass, not great for packing away. It usually takes me an hour to pack up and I’m always the last to leave. Today with three time the glass it took me over 2 hours.

Thank you to the Lamport Hall staff for organising such a great event and a special thank you for not pressuring me to get rush at the end of the day.

I have a really big space in the Brewers Yard Studios so will have some of my pieces that I would usually only display at art exhibitions or galleries.
