SO much more to blinds than just shading...
And coupled with home security alarm systems and top spec locks (check out Jonas King Security for a trustworthy local company), blinds and shutters give that added peace of mind - as well as looking beautiful and all the other benefits of course π

October is National Home Security Month, a good moment to think about how your blinds and shutters can help keep your home looking occupied and your valuables out of sight. A few simple habits worth building in:
πͺ Close your blinds or shutters when you go out, not just at night. An empty house with a clear view in can be more inviting to opportunists than one with the blinds or shutters closed.
π± Link motorised blinds to a smart hub so you can operate them remotely by phone, even when you're away from home. Automated blinds can also be set to run on a schedule, so it looks like someone's in even if you're not.
π Avoid leaving blinds in exactly the same position for days if you are away. It is worth adjusting your schedule every now and then too, in case anyone is watching for a routine.
π» Keep valuables away from windows. Positioning laptops, televisions and other valuables out of direct view reduces what is visible from outside, even with blinds or shutters open.
