Chocolate Oatmeal Bars 🍫🥳🤎
📝 Ingredients
For the oatmeal layer:
½ cup salted butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking soda
1½ cups rolled oats
For the chocolate filling:
1½ cups dark chocolate chips
1 can (397 g) sweetened condensed milk
¼ cup salted butter
👩🏻🍳 Instructions
🤎Prepare the oatmeal mixture. Melt ½ cup of salted butter in a bowl. Add the brown sugar and egg, then mix well. Stir in the flour, baking soda, and rolled oats until a dough forms. Set aside a portion of the mixture for the topping.
🤎Make the chocolate filling. In a saucepan over low to medium-low heat, combine the dark chocolate chips and condensed milk. Stir continuously until melted and smooth. Turn off the heat, add ¼ cup of salted butter, and mix until fully incorporated.
🤎Create the base. Grease or line a (I used 9.5 × 9.5-inch baking pan) with parchment paper. Press most of the oatmeal mixture evenly into the bottom of the pan.
🤎Add the chocolate layer. Pour the chocolate filling over the oatmeal base and spread it evenly.
🤎Add the topping. Crumble or scatter the reserved oatmeal mixture over the chocolate filling to create a beautiful marbled effect.
👩🏻🍳Bake until golden. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 30 minutes, or until the oatmeal topping is lightly golden and the edges are set. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
